Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast.
Hello.
So, there's this monkey somewhere in Japan.
なんとか県
Yeah.
Somewhere.
なんとか市
なんとか市
Somewhere.
Zoo, right?
Several monkeys.
Not monkeys, like 10 monkeys, right?
Okay.
In this huge fuckin' area.
And there's one baby monkey.
He had a mother, but abandoned the child.
So, didn't grow up with a mother.
He's lonely. He's alone.
And he tries to make friends with the othermonkeys.
But he's rejected.
He gets bullied.
He gets literally bullied by all the othermonkeys.
And that went viral.
And everybody was like,
Oh my god, we have to save Punch.
His name is Punch.
We have to save that Japanese monkey.
I'm going to Japan.
I'm going to see him.
And let's start a GoFundMe for Punch.
All of that shit.
And right now,
Probably right now, I guess the hype is alreadykind of over.
But back when it was like hot,
the line, look at the line.
Hello, Japan.
What?
This is the amount of people that was gathering inthe zoo just to see Punch.
Making lines and lines and fucking lines ofpeople.
Crazy, right?
Where is this? Chibashi.
Chibashi.
Oh, really?
Chibashi Zoo?
Chibashi.
Wait, let me see.
Wow.
Punch.
Where are you?
Ichikawa City.
Ichikawa.
Ichikawa City Zoo.
You know that?
I don't know that.
Okay.
You're pretty close.
I'm pretty close.
Oh.
It's...
Wow.
I guess it's not that very famous like this.
Right.
It's not a zoo that would get like...
Yeah.
Right, right?
So like, look.
This is what's happening to Punch.
Oh no.
He's getting bullied.
And he has a doll.
He has a monkey doll.
Oh, I see.
And he always goes back to this doll for emotionalsupport.
Look at all these other monkeys trying to get him.
Yeah.
It's kind of sad.
That's shocking.
I know. It's sad, right?
It's very sad.
Other moments like...
03:11
He's getting chased around.
You know.
That's so sad.
Yeah.
That is so sad.
That's very shocking.
Yeah.
So now this is very global.
And you know, everybody was like, let's save him.
Yeah.
It's not like people going and visit him.
What do they do?
They're not doing anything.
They just see this?
Yeah, they're just supporting, you know.
They just see this happening and just...
Yeah.
I mean, I guess it's not...
Yeah.
I guess there's nothing they can do, I guess.
I don't know.
But, you know, the zoo people, we should let themdo their job, you know.
Yeah.
To keep community, to keep track of...
I guess so.
Yeah.
People are just going to see him.
See him?
Yeah.
That's how they're kind of like indirectlysupporting him.
I see.
Yeah.
I'm going to the zoo.
You're going...
Yeah.
I mean, I don't know how crowded it is right now,but...
Yeah.
There has been several reports saying that he madefriends.
Oh, great.
And other reports saying that, no, he's stillbeing bullied.
Like for this one.
Here's a video saying that Punch now has a friendthat protects him.
Good.
It's cute.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's nice.
That's nice to see him have a friend, you know.
Great.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That was great.
Yeah.
Right.
Yeah, I mean, one thought, I wanted to visit thisguy just in direct support, but...
Yeah.
On the second thought, like, if there's nothing Ican do...
Yeah.
What I only do is just see him being bullied.
And it's like, that makes me even sadder.
Oh, yeah?
Yeah.
It's much more real, right?
Yeah.
You actually see it, right?
Yeah.
So, yeah.
I hope he's doing okay.
Yeah.
You know, right now.
I hope so.
I hope he made friends, you know.
Like this video.
Yeah.
Like that video.
Right.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Monkey...
06:01
Monkey...
Groups.
Sometimes happens like this.
Yeah.
I understand it, but...
I don't know.
A lot of people on social media were saying theykind of reminded them of their, like, middleschool, high school ages where they had, like, groups and, like, bullies and stuff like that.
That kind of brought back the bad memories.
Oh, I see.
Right.
And kind of wanted to support them now.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I see.
Yeah.
If there aren't that many people, maybe, you know, check it out, right?
Yeah.
I mean, if there's anything I can do for him.
Yeah.
I don't know.
I would punch, like, literally punch to those, like, bullies and I just get inside if that helps.
Right.
I wonder what the protocols are for the zookeepers, right?
Like, so, from all the videos that are on theinternet, it looks like the zookeepers aren'tdoing anything, like, literally nothing.
Okay.
Just aren't intervening with them at all.
It's probably the correct, I guess.
It's the wild thing.
Yeah, so...
Maybe you should...
Shouldn't manipulate whatever it is that's goingon naturally.
Yeah.
But, yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
There's also part of me that want the zookeepersto sort of, you know, help out, punch.
Yeah.
You know.
Help him and just maybe prepare some differentroom.
Yeah.
Oh, yes, yeah.
Right, right, right.
Maybe give him, like, a flamethrower or something.
Yeah.
Weaponize him in every way possible.
Yeah.
Like, you know, those guns where you shock people.
Yeah.
In the United States.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Cops use.
What do you call those again?
Lightstick things.
Yeah, yeah.
Stun guns.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's the story.
That's the beginning of the whole story.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
The samtai.
The beginning of the samtai.
Oh, God.
It's gonna be a big one.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's gonna be a big one.
Yeah.
I hope somebody make that movie.
Oh, yeah.
Of this guy.
True, true.
I don't know if that helps him.
I don't know, but...
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, so Punch, yeah, he was huge.
He was huge several weeks ago.
I don't see him anymore, though.
Yeah.
His friend isn't there anymore.
But I understand it's a big, like, huge shocker tomany people.
Yeah.
At least.
09:00
Yeah.
I know.
Punch.
Let's pray that he'll be okay.
Yes.
Yeah.
He make friends.
Make friends.
Doing okay in the group.
Doing okay.
Having a happy monkey life.
Yes.
You know?
Yes.
So, that's that.
Yeah.
All right.
Thanks for listening, guys.
Thank you.
Bye.
