Kindleの待ち受け画像
Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast. Hello. Hey guys. Hello. So let me check the messages. Okay.
Is that a Kindle? Huh? Is that a Kindle? Oh yes, yes, that one. Oh, with a wallpaper of an American
wooden pencil? Yeah, eraser. It's very strange. It's very strange. It's like, it's not me who
chose that one, but it's like once you open it and then you close it and it changes. Oh,
so it's like random. Yeah, it's random, but every wallpaper I saw is strange. So yeah,
this is strange. Yeah. I don't know if you guys can like see it, but it's, what is this? It's
an ink in a pen. Yes. It's like my name is in ink. I don't like them actually. Yeah. I want
them just plain, nothing, just, just plain. Right. Like a white screen. Yeah. Yeah. That
feels like it's off. Right. Can I see another one? Sure. Sure. Sure. It's every single wallpaper
is look, what the fuck is this? That's a, that's a typography, I guess. Typewriter. Typewriter.
Oh, the, the very close up of a, of a button of a typewriter. Yeah. Which is very strange. Very
strange. Yeah. Very strange. It's kind of misleading, you know, it just makes me think
that you like these photos. Right. Right. Everybody think like I'm looking something,
I don't know, I'm reading something like that, like, or whatever. Like I would judge you on
your taste of wallpapers. You know, I don't, I don't like them. I don't like any of them.
And you can't change it. I can't. I mean, I've never tried, but I, I guess I cannot change them.
Well, it's not easy to change. Yeah. I guess you got to search for places. Yes. I don't know what
this is. It's like, it's like you're in, in 4D, you know, it's like you're in another dimension.
It's like, what do you call that movie? The movie. Yeah. Yeah. One After Inception. What
do you call it? Yeah. Yeah. It's a strange movie. Yeah. Wow. Yeah. I don't like them.
You didn't do anything. Look at this. What is it? It's just, it's kind of scary now. It's scary.
You have like a, almost a thousand pen just pointing to one single dot. That is scary.
That's kind of scary. I don't like them. Yeah. I really don't. I don't want to be friends with
anyone whose wallpapers are like this. Totally. Totally. Yeah. It feels kind of dark, doesn't it?
Yeah. Yeah. It's very depressing. Yeah. I don't know why, but it's very depressing. It's dark.
Yeah. It has craziness. It does have craziness. Silent craziness. I understand. I don't understand.
It's like you're getting ready to read this exciting book that you've wanted to read for
the whole week and you open the Kindle and it's like, it's just, it's kind of like,
it's like, oh man, I don't have the stomach for this anymore. It's like, what is this?
Yeah. It's very psycho looking. The fact that it's black and white doesn't help too. Yeah. Yeah.
It feels even more kind of psychotic. Yeah. Honestly. Honestly. Are you enjoying the Kindle?
I do. I do. Inside. Yes. Inside. Yeah. Not those wallpapers, but okay. Yeah. Yeah. Can I, can I
see the Bunshō? Sure. See how it feels. So it doesn't feel digital. Yeah. Because it's not
digital. Oh, it's not digital. It's called physically. Yeah. It's called e-ink. Okay.
It's like physical, like, I see. Yeah. So it's not. Is there a light? Is there like a backlight
behind this? It's like, they have like front light. Oh, they have a front light? It's like,
Kindleの機能と使い方
it's like you got digital paper and you got digital ink on it. Okay. And then you have light
like from this. Interesting. And you see the, the, the, the words. So unlike the smartphone,
where the light is kind of directed at your face. Yeah. It's more like it's directed at the paper.
It's just like you're reading a physical paper with the sunlight coming or whatever,
the light coming in. I see. Yeah. So it's easier for the, it's softer on the eyes, I guess. Well,
that's good. That's nice. So that's why it's, it's, it's kind of slow when it is like, you know,
yeah, I can see, I can see it. Print them. Right. Right. Right. It's fast enough, right? Fast enough
to sort of, right. But so this one is like the latest version of Kindle. So it's, it's,
it's not that slow. Okay. But three generations before, it's very slow. It's like you see,
and the screens are like kind of printing. Oh, really? Yeah. I see. So it's much faster. Yeah.
I see. It's pretty fast, this one. On the bottom left corner, it's like,
文章を読み終わるまでの時間, like 三十二分. And you turn the page, it's
三十一分. And then you turn another, it's 三十分. So they expect you to read this in one
minute. Yeah. Obviously it doesn't need that much. Yeah. Wait, really? Oh, oh. So there you go again,
you know. Oh God. Yeah. The opposite direction. You just went the opposite direction. Right. You
know, my joke was like, I say, fuck, I, I cannot read this in one minute. And you're right next to
me. Like, it's not even a minute. We're laughing at the same joke, but like an opposite direction.
Oh man. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's kind of scary to me. It just feels pressure. Oh yeah. Yeah. I
don't like that one too. Oh yeah. I don't know. I don't, it's just unnecessary information.
You want to like, focus on the story. Yeah. What else can you do? Can you,
can you go to Instagram? No. You can only go to the Kindle store. Oh, but you can access the
internet. Yes. Yes. Okay. Okay. Okay. But that's cool. Yeah. I mean, you can not go anywhere else,
but like, but it has, it has the ability to access the internet. Uh, yeah. And it has an
online keyboard, on-screen keyboard, right? Uh, yes. You have to like, you have to type,
type in the password for the wifi. So yeah. Yeah. True. True. Which means you can't access this.
Really? I mean, it probably has the components to do so, doesn't it? But there's nothing.
It's the menu screen. So, um, wait, but you probably can go to Amazon and buy some shit.
No, no, no. You can't do that. No, it's only the books. Yeah. Books that it's a Kindle store.
Okay. Okay. Yeah. Hmm. There's no, you know, it's, it's not like link.
There's no, right. You can't, there's no app page. It's just, um,
you're taken straight to the Kindle app. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. It's,
it's just like this. Oh, and there's no scrolling. Right. Because the refresh rate is so slow. You
can't scroll. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I see. So you probably can't play movies, right? No.
I see. How about, how does that help? So that means you, you, uh, the Hoshi of the book you're
reading, I got this. Well, that's not, it's like, well, I tried once and I thought that can,
that could be better than the strange, scary. Yeah. But it's like, I'm, I'm showing exactly
what I'm reading right now. And I don't kind of like that. Exactly. I didn't, I didn't like that.
Kindleの壁紙と読書体験
Yeah. True. Yeah. True. I, I agree. You're better off with the psychotic.
But I want to change them though. It doesn't look like there's any settings for changing the,
yeah. Wallpapers. Right. Hmm. I really do. I don't like those. I don't like those papers.
Yeah. I want to change them. There's no, no, I don't know where to change.
Hmm. What book are you reading right now? Is it good? It's very bad. It's very bad. I mean, it's,
it's very well-made. Author is great. It's great. I don't know. How should I say? It's,
it's terrible story though. It's a mystery. There's this psycho serial killer. Okay. Okay.
And, it's very tough to read. Like, it's very painful. Yeah. Okay. I really don't like that.
Okay. It's not your taste. Yeah. Yeah. But, but it's, it's, it's, it's good. Everyone thinks,
everyone says it's a good book. Yeah. Yeah. And it's very well-made. Okay. It's, it's from a
popular artist? Writer? Nakayama Shichiri-san. Okay. I don't know if she or he is famous or not,
but very well-made. I liked his or her different books. And that's why I chose to read this one.
But this, this one was not your taste. I mean, it's, it's too much. It's like,
the way the killer kills people, that's like... Like, they describe every detail of how they do
it. Oh, that's okay. That's scary. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's, yeah. I don't recommend this to,
to anybody. Okay. As an, as an, I don't know. It's a good book though. It's a good mystery,
I guess. Yeah. It's like, I don't... Too grotesque. Yeah. Depressing. Are you going to
stop reading that? No, I'm going to finish it. Why would you? What, what makes you want to finish
the book? I don't know what's going to be at the end. So maybe turns everything maybe, or I don't
know. So I just keep reading and just see the whole, whole book and judge it after that. But
so far it's, it's very, very depressing. How, like halfway? Are you one third? I guess it's
half or... Yeah, I guess half, like half. Okay. Yeah. I see. It says 68%. 68%? Well,
isn't that the battery life? No. Oh, no? Okay. I thought it was battery life. Where are you?
I see. I see. Yeah. Oh, okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. This one makes me like very depressing and very
sad and very kind of scary and yeah. My wife was recommended a book and she's, she's too nice to
turn it down. Okay. So she was like, well, I'm going to try reading the book. Okay. So she's
reading this book. It's a, I don't know. I think it's popular. I don't know. I think, I don't know.
Maybe you know this. It's like a book of a, you know, Koukousei Kuizu? Yeah. It's kind of like
that. And the, the finals, right? There's two quiz answers left. Is that a story about Koukousei
Kuizu? It's not about it, but it's about, it's about the quiz. It's about, you know,
the athleticism of the quiz, you know? Okay. Okay. Yeah. The Hayaoshi, athleticism of Hayaoshi.
There's two people. And then like, and then like, Tsukino Mondai, immediately the other guy,
the other guy, not the protagonist, the other guy answered correctly. And then that's how
the story starts off. Okay. And then the, the, the protagonist is like, how the fuck did he do it?
Let me find out. That's how the story begins. Never heard of it? No. Okay. Okay. You know the
name? I do not know the name. Okay. Did she say that it's a good one or? Well, she said it was,
待ち受け画像の影響
she was okay. She said it was okay.
Well, I didn't know that one. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Is it a famous one? I think so. I mean,
it was recommended by her friend who used to work at a printing company, book printing company. So
that friend loves books. That's one of the recommendations. So let me search. Yeah.
Is that Kimi no Kuizu? I think that's it. Can you, can I see the cover? I think. I think if I
see the cover, I'd know. This is it? Yeah, it's it. Is it? Yeah. Never seen that. Maybe the popular
one. Yeah. I'm going to try that. Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Looks interesting. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Good to try. Yeah. I want to hear your take on it.
Thank you. Kimi no Kuizu. I'm going to try that. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, thanks. Thanks. I'm always looking
for new information, like new books information. Okay. So that friend recommended another book,
which was a lot more literaturically high level. I don't know if that's a word. Yeah. But I'll ask.
I don't know the title. Okay. Let me know the title. Yeah. I definitely can. Okay. Yeah. Yeah.
I guess those are like just novel. Yeah. Like a plain classic novel. Yeah. Yeah. I'm sure it was.
Yeah. Yeah. Nice. Nice. All right. Thank you. Thanks for sending guys. Thank you. Bye-bye.
