Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast.
Hello.
How about you? How's your life been?
Other than getting a little nervous from your tour?
Yeah.
Yeah, so the biggest topic is that one, my tour.
So that tour is アルバムリリースツアー
And last Wednesday, I think, my first アルバム was out.
Oh yeah, I saw a video of you on Insta.
Oh really? Yeah, with that terrible 画質 right?
So that was Wednesday.
And the アルバム includes the water repellent, by the way.
Wow, unbelievable.
And then after that, yesterday, yeah, Sunday.
Yesterday, I did a リリース記念イベント.
Oh shit!
Yeah.
Okay.
And it was done by Amazon Music.
Okay.
So it wasn't me who organized everything.
But it's like アルバム視聴会
Oh shit!
On the studio?
Yeah, on the studio.
The Shibuya studio?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Like 30 people came.
It was Senchakujun, 30 people.
And then we listened, we took a listen for some five songs, I guess.
And then I talked about, you know, the story behind and how did I make, you know, story about songs, albums.
Yeah.
And then, yeah, I did a, you know, it's like a sign in for the CDs.
Yeah.
And yeah, that's what I did yesterday.
It was so, so, it was so fun.
Uh-huh.
Yeah.
They, I mean, they were very, very, very, very polite.
They listened like very carefully to my song, to my words.
That made me so happy.
And I feel like, oh, you know, we can't see the faces of listeners, right?
I just put content out.
Right.
But we can't see them, their faces and how they react and how they receive my songs.
I can't, I can't imagine.
But yesterday I knew like, oh, my song is like reaching people actually.
It was hard.
Wow.
So, yeah, very moving to me.
Yeah.
30 people, was that, do you think was too many, maybe more or less, or could have gone bigger?
Yeah.
Could have handled bigger?
Could have handled bigger?
A little bigger.
Yeah.
But 30 people was like, I think, pretty good amount to make, you know, if it like become
03:00
very big, it's difficult to feel the connections, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, 30 was fair amount, I think.
But could be like double, 60, 50, 60.
Could have handled that?
Yeah.
That would be the maximum limit of talk like this to, you know, if it goes like hundreds
or like thousand, it's like more like a presentation kind of.
Right.
Yeah.
Right.
Yeah.
Were you nervous?
Yeah.
Before the show, I was nervous, like, because it was first time.
I didn't know who came.
Yeah.
I couldn't imagine like nothing, you know?
Right.
So, I was nervous at very beginning, but after just I start, you know, the show started,
no, they were just so nice.
Yeah.
They were just so nice.
What do you mean nice?
Like.
For example, they listened carefully to my words.
Like on stage, your words on stage.
Yeah.
I was on stage.
I was in chair.
I was sitting on the chair.
I have a mic and explain about, you know, songs and, you know, the story behind.
Then they carefully listened to you.
Oh, wow.
And then I was like, wow.
Like no one's on their phone.
No.
They're all carefully watching you.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And like this.
Oh, like nodding.
They're like showing that they're present listening.
Yeah.
They're laughing.
Sometimes they're crying.
Wow.
Yeah.
Then I was, oh.
Wow.
Thank you.
And they didn't even like interrupt me.
You know, somebody could like.
Oh, like, yeah.
Could be like that.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's free.
I mean, you're on a stage and.
It's physically possible.
Yeah, it's physically possible.
You can just say things randomly or shout.
Yeah.
Right.
But nobody was like that.
Also, like for the sainkai.
And so I had my staff there.
Okay.
And he was a little bit afraid of.
He handled many of those like sainkais.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Including, you know, many, you know, sainkais.
Yeah.
Like some people could be very selfish.
Yes.
And kind of like not leave.
Exactly.
So he was a little bit, I mean, very much worried about that.
Because it was first time.
Right.
You don't know what your audience could be like.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So he was, I was here sitting desk and people come and I write a sign.
And he was just behind.
And then ready for.
For the hagashi, right?
For the hagashi.
06:00
Yeah.
If necessary, he's going to like.
Yeah.
He was ready.
He didn't move at all.
Wow.
So the audience sort of just understood the rule.
Yeah.
Just wasn't selfish.
Yeah.
And followed by the rule.
I mean, we had some casual conversation, of course, while I was writing.
And then, yeah.
And then the moment I hand back my CDs to them.
They were like, they knew like, this is the end of the session.
Arigatou gozaimashita.
And then.
And they left.
Yeah.
And I was like, wow.
And more than me, he was like, wow.
That is so respectful.
Yeah.
After the whole show, he came to me and like.
Konna arienai desu.
Konna no arienai desu.
Bikkuri shimashita.
Wow.
So I was, I didn't know that.
Oh, really?
Maybe, yeah.
They're very good people.
Wow.
30 people, they came on time, like earlier than the shugo jikan.
Nobody was absent.
Wow.
And the other Amazon staff told me like, it's very rare that you have 100% of shuseki-sha.
Every time you got like two, three people.
Konai.
Okurete kuru.
But this time.
100%.
Everybody was.
All on time.
Even before the time.
Yeah.
Wow.
Sugoi desu yo kore.
Wow.
Wow.
I mean, respect.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I was so happy about that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So I didn't, yeah, it was very, you know, like easy, relaxed.
I was.
Thanks to the audience, you were able to sort of.
Yeah, thanks to the audience.
Yeah.
Wow.
I mean, I loved the moment.
Wow.
Thanks to the audience, yes.
That's amazing.
That's amazing.
It was a great moment.
Wow.
Wow.
I wrote a song like that.
The water repellent.
It was a great song.
Really?
Yeah.
Wow.
Some lady came to me.
Hello.
And like recently she got married.
Okay.
And that was the exact timing that I released the water repellent.
Oh, okay.
And that was very close to that marriage timing.
Okay.
For her.
Yeah.
And she was like, it's like the song of my life.
Wow.
You wrote a song of somebody's life.
Yeah.
That's pretty crazy, man.
I was like, oh, really?
Yeah.
Thank you.
I mean, yeah.
Wow.
So, yeah, I was very happy.
More than happy.
I still can't believe it, you know?
Oh, yeah.
Wow.
Yeah.
And that was this last Saturday, you say?
Yeah, it was yesterday.
Oh, it was yesterday?
Yeah, it was yesterday.
Oh, gotcha.
Sunday.
Oh, wow.
Man.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And I got Naru-chan on Skype.
09:02
Oh, shit.
Okay.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
To make it, you know, casual.
Uh-huh.
You know, like, fuck this.
Right, right, right, right, right.
It should be, like, friendly, you know?
Uh-huh.
Was he nervous?
A little bit at the beginning, yeah.
Uh-huh, uh-huh.
But he's, like, professionally, you know, do those Skype videos.
Oh, he does that?
I mean, like, you know, those sessions, like, lecture things, you know?
Oh, right.
So, he's, like, used to talking in front of people.
Yeah, kind of.
Yeah.
Oh, I see.
So, he's really good at speaking in front of people, so.
That's amazing.
That's awesome.
Yeah, it was good.
Oh, shit.
Yeah.
I would love to do that again.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That would be, that's a great, that feels like it really fits your personality as well.
True.
Like, you're someone who really would find value out of those.
Yeah, I think so.
Like, you know, one-on-one.
True.
So, like, true feeling, you know?
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Right, right, right, right.
Yeah.
I love that moment.
Wow.
Congrats on that, too.
Yeah, thank you.
You're getting a lot of shit done, you know?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Going on tour.
Yeah.
Got your album done.
Yeah.
You're on a roll, man.
It's unbelievable.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Wow.
Well, thank you.
So far, so good?
So far, so good.
That's awesome, man.
That's awesome.
I mean, more than good.
Yeah.
It's great.
Yeah.

Yeah.
It's, it's...

Yeah.
Yeah.
Well, congrats to that, too, then.
Thank you.
All right.
Yes, thank you.
Yeah.
All righty.
It continues.
Yeah.
I hope it continues.
Yep.
