Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast.
Hello.
You know what I've been planning recently?
What?
To do an ICL surgery.
What's that? ICL?
So, the surgery boosts up your eyesight.
So what happens is, you cut your eyeball.
Okay.
You cut your eyeball.
Okay.
You cut your eyeball?
You cut your fucking eyeball.
And there's this really thin, thin little sheet of this lens.
Sheet of lens?
This really thin sheet of lens.
Your eyes through that cut opening.
And then, you sort of, I don't know what you do to glue it back together, but you glue it back together.
And boom!
You have perfect eyesight 24-7.
It's like you put your lens, your glass lens, glasses in your eyeball.
That is exactly correct.
That is exactly right.
Okay.
That is really, really nice.
And it sounds really, like, amazing, great surgery.
Except one point.
Okay.
That you cut your eyeball.
Yes.
And you open your eyeball, right?
You don't open it.
You don't open it?
Yeah, I think you just cut it, and then you just sort of, like, slit that little lens through the little opening of the cut.
Okay.
I don't think you just, like, wank it open.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I see.
Yeah.
They say you can see the knife actually touching the eyeball.
Because you have to keep it open, right?
And it's not as messy.
It's just only your eyeball messy.
So your hands and your body and your mouth and your brain is functioning properly.
But your eyes are just a little bit blurry.
So you don't feel any pain.
You don't feel pain, supposedly.
You clearly see what's going on.
Well, not, it's blurry.
It's a little bit blurry.
I don't know how blurry, but, yeah, it's a little bit blurry.
And then you get that knife just closing in on you.
Wow.
That sounds scary.
It does sound scary, doesn't it?
Yeah.
But I'm sure it's not hurtful for anybody.
Because it's proper surgery, right?
Yeah, yeah.
And I'm sure it's alright for everybody.
Yeah, there are risks, though.
There are several risks.
03:00
But low percentage, though.
But like, you know, some people might have to deal with enshou.
Oh, yeah.
Kansenshou.
Those things are always a possibility.
With any surgery, right?
But because it's the eye, you gotta be very careful.
If that happens, you might, you know.
You lost your eyesight.
Yeah.
Worst case scenario, yes, that might happen.
But kind of rare, though.
But, yeah, it's still a possibility.
But, yeah, that's, yeah.
Some of the other downsides are when you get hakunaishou.
Most people get hakunaishou, right?
You have to cut open your eye again.
Okay.
How come?
I think that's what it is.
I think you have to, like, change that suishoutai to jinkou suishoutai, I think.
Okay.
Or you do something to the suishoutai.
Okay, okay.
To do that, you have to cut open the eye.
Like what you would do with the ICL.
Okay.
So, you have to cut open the eye again.
Okay.
So, you have to cut open the eye again.
Okay.
So, you have to cut open the eye again.
The ICL.
So, you have to do it twice.
Okay.
That's double the risk.
That's another demerit.
Okay.
But that's it, though.
It's a little bit expensive. It's like gojumain or something.
For one ball?
Oh, I don't know.
Maybe two.
Gojumain.
Yeah.
I mean...
It sounds good, though.
Oh, another demerit.
Okay.
So, we're all suffering from kinshi, right?
Okay, kinshi.
You can see close, but you can't see far.
Yeah, yeah.
You're starting to get that, too.
Yes, I am, yes.
But the ICL...
That's kinshi.
That ICL...
But I forgot.
We can see close, but we can't see far.
When we get older, we get rougan.
That, we can't see close.
Right, you do like this.
ICL is not effective
against rougan.
Okay.
So, even if you do it now,
in your 40s or 50s,
you're gonna have to suffer from rougan.
And you have to wear glasses.
Huh.
So...
Oh, so that makes your...
That makes you can see clearly
to the far places.
Yeah.
But if you get rougan like this,
you can't see the closer places.
Ah, I see.
What if you do that surgery
in your
40s or 50s,
after you got rougan like this?
Yeah, you can only see...
Yeah, I mean,
you're not gonna fix
your rougan.
06:00
Okay.
Hmm.
Okay. Well, I mean,
that sounds really nice
if you really wanna see
things far from you.
Yeah.
Or like you don't really like your glasses
or your lens and everything.
I mean, I'm not
in that circle.
Right, you're not in that glasses world.
Yeah, I can't precisely imagine
that, how tough is that.
But if you don't like
wearing contact lenses every
night, every day.
It dries your eyes.
Right.
And your glasses.
Every time I take my jacket or T-shirt off,
the glasses get stuck.
And I hate that.
Okay, it's true.
Yeah.
I can't wear anything with the glasses on.
You have to really stretch your neck.
Yeah, yeah.
In order to not disturb the glasses.
Yeah.
And you gotta clean them every once in a while.
Yeah, you do. You do clean your glasses.
I have a shampoo.
It's a weird product name.
But yeah, I bought it. I clean it.
Right, right, right.
I don't wanna do that anymore.
So, I'm thinking about it.
Yeah, yeah.
Well, the only thing to me
is the scariness.
Yeah, it is frightening.
I don't know how.
I don't know if I can...
Can you try it?
Can you try it on me?
Don't actually poke it.
Put something close to my eye
as if you were the doctor.
Let's see how I can...
Find something sharp.
I mean...
Let's not use a cutter.
How about a pencil?
Like this.
I'm gonna lay down
like I'm in a surgery room.
So, do you wanna keep wearing your glasses?
I don't wanna keep wearing my glasses.
Alright, just give it to me.
Okay.
Alright, I've laid down.
Let's do the surgery.
Mess.
Muscle first, then.
It's an eye drop.
Muscle by eye drop.
Are you okay?
Yup, my eyes are numb.
One, two...
That's for the vision.
It's not related.
Are you ready?
Give it to me, doctor.
No, no, no.
I want more.
Can you be quiet, please?
We're in the hospital.
We're in the hospital.
You're not gonna feel anything.
It's not painful.
Yeah, it's not painful.
Wrist is low.
You don't feel nothing.
09:00
Give it to me.
I want the perfect eyesight.
Damn.
It was that far away from your eyes.
5 cm? 6 cm?
10 cm.
Okay, give it to me.
Closer.
Are you sure?
Don't move, man.
I will not move my head.
Just give it to me.
Don't move, man.
I will not move.
Please don't.
That's 1 cm.
That's 1 cm.
You're giving it to me straight.
Give it to me.
Can you tilt it a little bit?
Okay.
The point.
About 1 or 1.5.
You know what?
It's not that scary.
It's not that scary?
When you get too close...
It was scary for me.
When it's too close,
you can't see it.
You can't see it.
I see.
So it's like...
I don't really...
So when it's that far,
when you have 10 cm,
that's the scariest.
True.
It's a blurred thing.
It's just blurry.
That's it.
Maybe I got this.
Maybe I can do it.
Obviously, doctor won't do like...
They're not gonna do a countdown.
They just do this.
They say it's like...
5 minutes.
Both eyes.
One eye, 5 minutes.
Boom.
That's quick, right?
Then it's like...
And you're done.
You don't feel anything.
You don't see anything.
Even with your eyesight now.
If you have the masseuse...
It's gonna be a little bit blurrier.
Right?
I guess I got this.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, so...
Thinking about it.
Well, it sounds good, though.
Yeah, it is.
Right.
Thanks for listening, guys.
Bye-bye.
