Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast!
Hey guys!
Last one?
Uh-huh.
Okay.
Thank you.
Uh-huh.
Yeah.
Uh-huh.
Uh-huh.
Thank you.
You know, I've never written so much with AI.
Oh, so you basically talk. Is that what you mean?
Yeah. Like, you know, write a paragraph for me,chatGPT. That I've never used it like that.
So I don't, I don't know.
Okay, okay.
But, you know, in terms of conversation, AI, youknow, having conversation, that I, you know, thatI understand.
Japanese and English, it instant, like, youinstantly know it's AI that's talking.
Okay, okay.
Do you get it? Do you get what the guy's saying?
I mean, I don't use AI with English. I just usethem in Japanese.
Yeah.
And mainly writing form.
Right.
So...
If in Japanese, right, AI writes you like aparagraph, like, do you instantly notice it's AI?
Yeah, yeah.
What is it that's noticeable?
It's like, um, the way they organize the frame.
The way they organize, like, um, the order thatthey write things.
Okay.
Like, how they conclude. It's, it's the wholeframe.
Okay, okay, okay.
Yeah, yeah.
How they structure their...
Yes, yes, yes.
You know, paragraphs and arguments and...
Right, right, right.
That I kind of get.
Yeah, do you?
Yeah, I do get it. I do get it.
I think it's the most, I don't know, like, smoothest organization to understand for many people.
But, yeah, it has a special color.
But how about, like, the Japanese language itself? The way they use their Japanese, is thatsometimes, you know, AI colored?
You mean words?
Right, like, the word choices, how they phrasethings, how they express the information.
Um, for example, like, 語尾, I sometimes feel theyhave some special, like, it's own 語尾, like, 口調.
Okay, okay, okay.
That, something I noticed, but, like, like, words, like, word by word, it's...
03:05
No, I don't think so. It's just a combination.
Ah, okay, okay. I see.
More like, I feel the whole frame or, like, combinations.
I feel the AI-ness.
I see, I see.
Yeah, English has that vibe, too, sometimes.
I mean, it's like, sometimes it's very toooptimistic.
Oh, I see.
I would say.
Okay, okay.
Too, you know, yeah.
The way they use their emojis is AI.
My AI doesn't use emojis, though.
Oh, really?
Yeah.
Okay.
Do you use emojis?
My AI uses lots of emojis.
Oh, really?
Like, ChatGPT, you ChatGPT don't use emojis?
No.
Oh, damn.
Maybe optimized to ourselves, maybe.
Maybe?
Yeah.
Like, for example, like, if I ask Chat, like, makeme a schedule for my Kyoto trip.
They would list out the places to go.
And every, besides every list, they'll put, like,a little emoji of, like, a temple.
Really?
Like, a little dango emoji after it.
That don't happen to you?
Okay.
Sometimes, yes.
Yeah.
Like, let's say that those Kyoto trips thing, theyput title.
Yeah.
And then, I don't know, leaves and temple emoji.
Oh.
Right.
But one or two.
One or two?
Yeah.
They don't put that much.
Yeah.
Mine goes in for every bullet.
Okay.
Yeah.
That's annoying sometimes.
Oh, yeah?
Yeah.
Friendly guy.
Yeah.
Friendly guy.
Yeah.
Did you tweak your AI or something?
No, no, no.
No, it's just, like, the factory setting?
Yeah.
Okay.
Maybe I'm just talking to that guy in a verypolite way.
Oh, man.
Okay.
Except he doesn't think, like, I shouldn't use emojis to this guy.
I see.
That's interesting.
Interesting, yeah.
Trying to understand your vibe.
Okay.
All right.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's so AI.
That's very AI.
Yeah.
Very Japanese AI.
Yeah.
Loves that, those phrases.
Totally.
Right.
Now, I feel I can make those AI phrases.
Yeah, you can pretend to be AI, right?
Right.
That's right.
They accept you first.
Those ones.
And when you ask a follow-up question,
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
06:01
That is so AI.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's
It's like, yeah, it's too much.
It's like, he's like a kind of like a...
I don't know, like...
Yeah, like a よいしょみ.
I don't like that.
I get it.
I get it.
Sometimes they よいしょみ too much.
It's like, I'm kind of worried that,
like, you know,
they're accepting something that I'm not...
Yeah.
Like, they're accepting a wrong information, like...
True.
Right?
Yeah.
And that's...
Yeah, that's a little bit worrisome sometimes.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Especially...
For example, like,
they put me some wrong information,
and then I asked about that again.
Is it true?
I don't think so.
And then that guy replies to me,
And then that's like...
Right.
It's like...
This guy's like よいしょみ.
Right, just trying to please you.
That's it.
But it's like, no, I don't want that.
I don't...
I just need to apologize, like...
Yeah, yeah.
Right.
It's...
Yeah, that's...
Yeah.
That's a little bit, right?
It's like, not trustworthy.
Yeah.
Part of the AI.
It feels like turning and twisting.
Yeah.
Every time.
Right.
I understand.
I understand.
Yeah.
Weeks ago, I asked some questions to my...
One of my friends.
And then he kindly replied to me,
like some informations.
Okay.
But it looks very AI.
I was like, well, yeah, okay.
I mean, thank you for the reply.
But, oh, yeah, okay.
Did you use an AI to answer my question, my guy?
Yeah.
I didn't say anything, but okay.
Yeah.
I had that happen to me once, too.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Right.
That's an awkward feeling.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I appreciate it for the time, for the reply.
But at the same time, like...
Yeah.
Right.
All right.
Thanks for sitting, guys.
Thank you.
Bye-bye.
