Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast!
Hello, guys. So, uh, this one. Okay. Oh, I wantedto talk to you about something. Yeah. Okay.
Uh, how's the book? Oh, yes. 三体。三体。 It's veryinteresting. How many percentage of the book
have you read? Um, I think 75? Okay. Yeah. Wow.Getting into that climax. Yes, yes. But I, it
feels
like it's the story goes like bigger and biggerand I don't see the conclusion. I see. It's
getting
bigger and bigger and like wider and wider. So itdoesn't feel like it's going to end in 25%.
Like how this is going to be end and like what?Yeah. I see. Well, it's interesting. It's very
interesting. Um, so, um, did I say the basicstory? Yeah. Yeah. I think you, uh, you told me
like the first or the first two sections, maybe.Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Do you remember the,
the rough? Yeah. Like a basics? Yeah. I mean, uh,the, uh, someone who was questioning the,
the, uh, the authority was killed. Yes. Yes.Because of, you know, too much science going on
and like, yeah. And then after that, a completelydifferent scene. Yes. Yes. Yes. And I think that's
where we're ended. Okay. Okay. So, um, now we havea protagonist that lives today or not today, but
like a present day. Yeah. Yeah. And, um, he's ascientist and suddenly like was brought into the,
uh, some kind of science congression, uh,Congress. Okay. The meeting like a meeting. Yeah.
And then he, and then he meet the kind of like,um, the group, like some kind of organization
of science ish thing. Okay. And then, um, andthen, um, it's very, very difficult to explain
because it's wild, very wild. Okay. So he's ascientist that he's, he's professional.
He's prof profession. He's professionalprofession. Yeah. He's like a nano technologies.
Okay. Like very small particles study. Okay. Andthen that mystery us, um, organization
tries to kill those scientists even in the modernera. Okay. And then the protagonist
is threatened by that organization and don't knowwhy we don't know that how they did that. Okay. He
certainly like had numbers in his vision. Okay.Without any glasses, without anything, it's
03:02
counting down. Oh shit. And the organization toldhim that it's counting down and you know what
happens. Okay. And then he was very scared andstart to like fight against the organization and
try to know what's the goal of that organizationand everything. And then he meet the game,
the video game. Okay. It's like a VR game. Youwear something you, then you literally feels like
you've, it feels like you're in the world. Okay.Like a VR game. Yeah. Yeah. And, um, he plays it
and the game. So, so the story goes like two linesthen. Okay. One is when he is in the game.
Okay. And one is he's in the real world. Okay. Andin the game, there are like three sons,
the, the, the star, the sun. Okay. And, um, he hasto solve and calculate and make the calendar.
Okay. To construct the society in the world, inthe VR world. Okay. Because it's very random. The
sun goes up and the next sun comes up and likesometimes there are three suns in the sky and it's
too hot. I see. And you know, that's the game andyou have to calculate everything and things like
that. Okay. And that is still going on. All right. He's still not, you know, he's doing it. Okay.
He made mistakes and then the game ends and thenrestart and restart and restart. Okay. He's trying
it. Okay. He's trying it. Try, trying it. Yeah. And then the real world, um, he tries to get
inside
the organization. And well, this is going to besome kind of netabare to some of the audiences.
So if you, if you don't want to, please just skipthis episode. But, um, you know, in the very
beginning part, okay. Um, the scientist has beenkilled by the government. Yes. And the scientist
had a daughter and she was watching that scenefrom a very close distance. Okay. And she, that
girl
is now in that organization. Okay. And she was themaster of the organization. Okay.
And then it's very difficult, but somehow she wasalso a scientist and she, so it's, it sounds very
bullshit. Okay. But she got a message from thespace. Okay. From another earth-like planet. Oh,
06:10
star, outer space, human being or somewhat. Okay.Yeah. And that's, that's so far the story is.
And you're 75% through. Yes. Damn. It's like, soI, I feel like, you know, the, the VR game,
it's about the stars, the sun, the three suns, andyou know, those like calendar things. Yeah.
And this, the real world organization is alsoabout the stars. And so I think you will like
finally someday combine into one and you can solvea very huge secret or something. I don't know.
But so far. Yeah. The story goes into the VR game, goes into the space,
goes into the history thing. Yeah. It's crazy.Yeah. It's crazy. Yeah. But it, but it is,
but it's very, very fun. It's very interesting toread. Right. I'm now curious how this is going
to end. Yeah. I can't wait for you to finishreading. Yes. It's very interesting. Is it
difficult? I don't, well, the plot is obviouslydifficult in terms of like language. No, no.
Average. Yeah. The names, they're all Chinesenames. So that's a little, little maybe. Yeah.
But besides, yeah, it's written in Kanji. Youhave, you have furigana of how Chinese people
reads it. Oh, okay. I see. So if you want to, youcan read like that. I just read the Kanji as,
as my way, as Japanese way. And just. You'retalking about Meishi. The people's name. People's
names. Yeah. Okay. So beside that, it's not thatdifficult. It's not like very, you know,
some of the novels written in very old fashioned, but not like that. It's, it's modern days.
Gotcha. But sure. Gotcha. I remember telling youthat, that friend that recommended the book
said that it has like a, like an explanation pagebecause it was too difficult. Did you,
did you have that? So far? No, not yet. Okay. Ihad the explanation, like a note,
like a, you read, it's the left end of the page. You have like Komejirushi and then.
Oh, like a small, okay. Got it. In like duringJapanese English test. Oh yeah. Yeah. I like that.
09:04
Where students come across a word that theyhaven't learned. Yes. They'll give you the
explanation for that. Yes. Yes. Yes. All that.Okay. Yeah. So like, they talk about some Chinese
historical thing or like Chinese cultural famousguy. Got it. That we don't know. Okay. And then.
Got it. You have the explanation. Maybe that.Yeah. Well, it's, it's helpful. Okay. Yeah. It's
not like make it difficult thing. It's, it's. Isee. Giving it context. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's
great. Yeah. Some scientist name from China thatwe don't know. Right. But maybe famous in the
country. Right. Right. Gotcha. Yeah. I see. Yeah.I see. And yeah, so. Can't wait. Can't wait.
Yeah. Can't wait. Can't wait. And yeah. I hope itgoes in a good way, but it feels like it's very
serious. You know, many people are killed. I don'tknow. Like, is it going to be,
is it going to have a happy end or like, is itgoing to? I mean, you can definitely run into
a bad ending, right? Yeah. Definitely possible.Yeah. Do you like happy endings or what's your
favorite way to end a story? Happy ending.Something that makes you think. Yeah. Yeah.
Those things. I don't prefer like very, very badending. I don't, I really sad that depressed me.
And then just, I don't, that's, that's too heavy.Like I don't, I don't, you know, actively
see or read those things. But I don't know. Itfeels like, it looks like,
I don't know. It could be depressing. Maybe. Couldbe. Oh, okay. It could be. But at the
same time, it could be like, very happy. Like he,I don't know, mastered everything and
I don't know, married with somebody. I don't know.Let's see. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. All right.
Yeah. Glad you liked it. Yeah. Well, thank you.Thank you for recommending.
Yeah. Thanks for sitting guys. Thank you. Bye-bye.
