東京でのリフレッシュ休暇
Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast.
Hello.
Hey guys.
So, anything on your end?
What did I do?
Nothing like crazy.
Nothing big.
I just stayed in Japan.
Yeah.
And did some music things.
Okay.
Did recording, make songs.
And...
Yeah, as we had a day off of a week.
Yeah.
I wanted to go somewhere far, like Hawaii.
But we needed to stay in Japan.
Yeah.
Many things that I wanted to do.
But I wanted to do some little trip.
Yeah.
So I went to...
So we went to Tokyo.
Okay, Tokyo.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And we did a Tokyo trip for three days.
ローカルな東京散策と意外な発見
Like as if you were a tourist?
Yes, yes.
From a different country?
Yeah.
Okay, that's cool.
We were staying in a hotel in Tokyo.
Oh, that's cool.
And we cultivated some stroller and somewhere thatwe haven't been, you know, seen yet.
Okay.
Very...
It was pretty fun.
Yeah.
We pretended as we were like tourists fromsomewhere around, somewhere abroad and...
Okay, like you went to all these cliche places?
Not cliche places, though.
Very local places.
Okay.
Like very narrow street that we never get in.
Right.
Or like some parts of Tokyo that we haven't been, you know, seen yet.
So...
That's great.
Yeah.
That's great.
Yeah.
We did that little trip and get back to my housein Tokyo.
Oh, my goodness!
That's awesome.
That's fun.
It's really fun.
It was beautiful, pretty little...
A trip?
Yeah.
How many stays?
Two nights.
Two nights.
Two nights, three days.
That's great.
Oh, that's great.
Nice.
Yeah, yeah.
Well, we stayed in hotel.
Do some...
We went to the gym in the hotel.
Nice.
Nice.
Went to a little pool in the hotel.
Oh, yeah.
Nice, right.
Yeah, it was pretty nice.
Yeah, sounds like a great vacation.
クラブのようなバー体験
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
We went to a very, very fancy bar.
Okay.
That was something...
The world was different.
Like the hotel bar or...?
Yeah, it was...
Yeah, things like that.
Okay.
And we get inside.
The people...
It was like half...
So it was different from something that we imagineby hearing bar.
Okay.
You know, we imagine bar is like a counter.
Yeah.
Like quiet master.
Yeah.
And like someone's silently drinking and sippingwhiskey or something like that.
Yeah.
It was totally different from that.
It was like...
I would say it was club-ish.
The loud music going on.
Okay.
Kind of DJ was there.
And everybody was drinking and like not dancing, but chatting loudly.
Oh.
And yeah.
That those people, the types of people that we don't usually...
Right.
Interact with.
Yeah.
You know?
It was pretty...
To me, it was the highlight.
It was totally new world and new experience.
Was that place marketed as a bar or...?
Yeah, it's a bar.
It's a bar, not a club.
Not a club.
It's a bar.
Okay.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But after that, I heard from bartender friend.
He said like, you know, those counter bar is veryJapanese-y one.
And in abroad, it's like bars tend to be more loudand more like danceable and more...
So I guess that's like the actual bar.
Like internationally?
Yeah, I guess so.
But the atmosphere was so new to me.
Oh.
But it was different from like the nightclub?
Different from the nightclub.
Oh, wow.
We had like chairs, couch.
Nobody was standing and walking around.
Everybody was sitting at tables and bartenderswere there.
So the main objective is to enjoy the alcohol, right?
Yeah.
Not the music?
Yeah, not the music.
Alcohol is the main part.
Okay, okay.
It's not like the music club or like music barthing.
Oh, okay.
It's a different...
That's a different experience.
Yeah, it was fun too.
You got like, you know, you got like glasses, some...
I forget the name, a weird cocktail that likesmoking around.
Okay.
Or like, you know, those things.
Yeah, the fancy ones.
Yeah, the ones.
You try those things.
Oh, okay.
Yeah, it was fun.
Oh, that's cool.
東京の隠れた魅力と再発見
Yeah.
Nice.
So that was what we did.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Besides that, it was a peaceful, calm week.
Did you like stroll around Tokyo?
Is that what you guys did?
Just not...
Yes, yes, yes.
Close to the hotel, though.
We were strolling around and yeah.
As it was not the fullest, but sakura season.
So we went out.
I didn't watch some trees and flowers.
Right, right.
And try some ramen.
Oh, yeah.
That's nice.
Yeah.
That's really nice.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's great.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh.
Yeah.
Okay.
That's what I did.
That was your week.
Yeah.
Nice.
Okay.
Yeah.
And realize that there are so many parts that Istill don't know, even in Tokyo.
Okay.
So...
Yeah.
We need to go out and...
Discover.
Yeah.
Yeah, right.
I mean, I was walking in like a nearby station ofmine and it was...
You know how there's a lot of under like Chikadetsu, like the...
You know how when several of the stations areclose by, it's connected by like undergroundroads?
Yeah.
And like you can move through.
Yeah, I was walking around there and there waslike...
And it's one of the stations where it's like it'sreally deep.
Okay.
It's like really like it's a lot of streetsunderground.
Underground.
And it's like I've used that station for severalyears now, but there was this one row that I neverwalked and it was...
I didn't expect to find a new like discovery inthis area.
And they had so much like interesting shops there, interesting like restaurants and places there.
And I was like, wow, I mean, I never expected tofind like something new like after years of beinghere.
So a lot of great gems to find in Tokyo.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
We should appreciate that.
People coming from far, far away to experiencethose things.
Yeah.
And we are already here.
In it every day, every day, right?
Absolutely, absolutely.
Yeah, I mean, like always, you know, after comingback from abroad, I did appreciate, you know,Japan.
Yeah, food, people.
Yeah.
Now this time, the price.
Oh, the price.
Yeah.
Maybe it's not not good, you know, in terms oflike the yen being weak.
But I, you know, at least, you know, at least theinflation thing isn't as crazy as in the UnitedStates, I thought.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, so, right.
Got to appreciate.
Oh, yeah, I got to appreciate.
リスナーへの感謝とエンディング
