仙台と山形の旅行
Hello. Hello. Hello. Oh, I went to, um, went to 仙台. 仙台? Yeah. For the first time. For a trip?
Yeah. A trip. And, um, I had... Nice. 仙台. Right. 仙台 and then... Okay. 山形. Oh, yeah.
仙台・山形 back. Oh, nice. Right. One day, one day. One day, one day? Yeah, yeah, yeah. You mean one night?
One night. Uh, it was like, uh, it was like, uh, one day, 山... The morning, I went to... Ah, 仙台? 仙台.
Spent night at 山形. Okay. And then left at night. I see. I see. Nice. 一泊二日。 東北旅行。 That's right. Right? Yeah.
First time going to either one of those. Okay. I went to, um, so I ate, uh, 牛丼. Yes. Good
牛丼 place. That was the best 牛丼 I've ever eaten in my life. Oh, nice. Great. Nice. That's
nice. Great. That's that. Um, the city was pretty, pretty big. Yeah. Yeah. Bigger than I expected.
It's, um, you know, it's a lot of people. Yeah. A lot of people. Just as crowded as Tokyo, I thought.
Oh, really? Yeah. Okay. I did. But, like, still elegant. Yeah. You know, it's... I understand that.
You know? Yeah. It's not, like, it's not, it doesn't have the dirtiness of the Shinjuku or
the Ikebukuro. You know how it's a little bit, you know, filthy. Yeah. A little bit, like, dark.
It's not like that. It's elegant. You know? But still very 元気. Oh, I didn't know it's that crowded.
It was crowded. Yeah. Okay. It's crowded. Um, that was fun. Yeah. Great. Nice. Nice. Nice. Nice. And then the next day,
イモニ祭りの発見
um, I went to, uh, Yamagata. Okay. And I found out that on that day, they... Yamagata is holding this
huge festival. Oh, okay. Once a year. Uh-huh. And people all over the country come. Wow.
You didn't know it. Just... I didn't know until the day before. Okay. Right. And then I decided to go there.
Oh, nice. Nice. Nice. Yeah. It was a Imoni festival. The Imoni festival. Okay. You know what they do?
No. So, right here.
Wow. They... they use cranes and a huge-ass pot to make a fuckload of Imoni.
A lot of people, right? And right here in the middle, you have two or three crane chads that are
mixing the big-ass bowl of Imoni. What? And all these people are served a bowl right here.
This is exactly what I got. And you eat it. Oh. Yeah. Wow. Never... never... never, uh,
never heard of it? Check it out. Yeah. Yeah. It's interesting. Looks so nice. It's interesting. I
mean, it's... yeah, it looks really interesting. So, for the crane chad, you know how there's
grease, right? There's mechanical grease. Yeah. They use butter instead of that. So, they use a
brand-new spoon, like this. They use a brand-new part. Okay. And they use butter as their grease.
They use the same one? That's right. As the, uh... As the, you know, the one you usually see
in crane chad or the, I don't know, what do you call those? Yeah. Shobiruka. Shobiruka. Yeah.
Oh, wow. But make it clean. Yeah. It's clean. Yeah. It's safe. Wow. Right. See, like, right there.
Yeah. Like these. Wow. Shobiruka. Yeah. I ate it. Yeah. It was so good. It was really good.
What kind of potato was that? Like, was it like satoimo? It looked big. I think it was satoimo.
祭りの体験と食べ物
I'm not sure. Okay. I'm not too familiar with the types of potatoes. I think it was a jagaimo.
I don't think it was a jagaimo. Yeah. Maybe satoimo then. Yeah. The picture I saw, like,
oh, yeah, I think it's satoimo. Yeah, I think it's satoimo. Oh, nice. Look. It looks so delicious.
It does. Yeah, it is. It is. It's amazing. I didn't see it, but they, every year, they do wrestling
here. What? They get some, yeah, they partner up with, like, wrestlers, and they do a wrestling
show. So random. Yeah, I know. It's so random. It is so random. Yeah. Ooh, wow. Yeah, this is
the picture of the bowl from the top. It is so crazy. It was fun, though. Lots of TV cameras,
you know. Yeah, I see. It's reporting. Yeah. I can't imagine that. And many people. Many people.
Like, the Yamagata, the station, the JR station, it's three people, right? But, like,
in the field of the festival, like, it was like Disneyland. Wow. Yeah.
So, that was exciting. You're really lucky, then. I was very lucky. Yeah. To be able to experience
this festival. Right, right, right, right, right. Very, very lucky. Yeah.
Right. And they serve samba, too? Yeah, they have a lot of tents that serve street food, you know,
like the obutsuri tent. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And one of them is a samba. But the samba is not,
it's, yeah, I think this is special, as well. Okay. Like, you know, it's one of the main sort
of food, as well. Yeah. Oh, so nice. Yeah. But it was really big, so I didn't get to go through
every one. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You just saw it and enjoy the vibe. Right. And get one bowl.
Yeah, get a bowl. One bowl each? One bowl, everybody gets a bowl. Free, I think. That's
crazy. Yeah. It's free. Yeah. And it's a pretty big bowl. Like, you're gonna get full. Like,
it's enough for a lunch. Oh, yeah. Maybe on Onigiri, it will be, yeah, then you're good.
That's great. Yeah. Do you need to pay to get inside? No. It's just completely free. It's free.
It's just a festival. It's just a festival. Right. What a great festival. I know.
Yeah, there are many festivals that we didn't, that we don't even know.
Right. But actually really fun and good. Yeah. Wait, no, I think you have to pay 600 yen.
Okay. Or 700 yen. As admission fee? Yeah. One of our friend was there. They gave me a ticket.
Okay. Like, I got it for free. But I think you have to pay 600 yen. Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Yeah. Oh, it looks nice. Yeah. And once a year? Once a year. Every year. Every year. This season.
Yeah. Like this. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Right. September, August. Right. That's interesting. So nice.
Right. Maybe next year I would go. You should. You should. You should. Yeah. But other than the
festival, it was a little bit difficult to find things to do there. Okay. Okay. Everything was
really spread out. You know, it was so far. You know, it was like, it wasn't like, let's go look
around the station. There was nothing around the station. Yeah. Because it's such a car-centric
community, you know. It's, many of the things are scattered, like, you know, 20 minute by car.
仙台と山形の概要
It's not walkable. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You didn't use a car? I rented a car. Oh, yeah. After I found
out that it was just too spread out. Yeah. And the Densha as well, you know, it only comes once
every 20 minutes, 30 minutes. So that was, you know, I forgot about that as well. Like, oh,
there's a station, let's just go. Oh, wait, it's not going to come for another 50 minutes. Yeah.
So that was there as well. Yeah. Have you been to Yamagata or? Sendai, yes. Sendai, yes. Two,
three times, yes. But Yamagata, I don't think I've visited before. Yeah. I have to go to this
festival. Yeah. What's your image of Yamagata? Rice? Rice, or like, it's famous for the shogi.
Shogi? Oh, okay. I think it's famous for that. I didn't know that. Yeah.
I'm not sure. Yamagata. Yeah.
I know, so. Yeah. So that's my image. Yeah. Right. And good sake. Good sake. Yeah.
Good, yeah, good rice, good foods. Nature. Right, nature. Yeah. Yeah. Woods. Yeah, that's a wood.
Yeah, that's my image. Yeah. Yeah. Right. Right. But I guess there are many, many more to.
To discover. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. What did you found, like, in Yamagata? Yeah, I went to, well, I found
a good Nikusoba place. Oh, Nikusoba. Yeah, Nikusoba place. I also went to a temple that has like a
thousand stairs. You have to climb a thousand steps or so, and then you have a great view.
Yeah, and I went there. It's great. Is soba famous in Yamagata? I don't know,
but the locals said, this is a good Nikusoba place to go. Oh, I just went there.
Was it good? Yeah, it was good. It was good. Yeah. Yeah, that's what I found.
Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I want to know what to do and what should I see, where to visit in Yamagata.
Well, well, yeah, there are things, like many things that you'd
undercover. I'm sure I've missed so many of them. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm sure I did.
I'm sure I did. I think so. Yeah. For example.
That's really famous. Oh, is it? Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I definitely missed that. Yeah, the one thousand step thing is a Yamadera.
That, right, but it was too far. Okay. It was very far.
It's part of that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. But I'm sure that's far away as well. Yeah.
True. Yeah. It's really famous. I ate a Sakuranbo soft serve. Oh, nice, nice. It's good.
Yes, I ate a Dadacha Daifuku. Daifuku? Yeah. It was good.
山形の名物と観光
It was good. Yeah. And also Imoni. Yeah, right, right, Imoni. Yeah.
The Sendai is very famous for the green, what was it called, the green... Zunda? Yeah, Zunda,
yeah, right. It's kind of similar. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. True. Zunda, right.
Those, let me check what the difference is. Okay.
So, Dadacha Mame is a name of the beans, like it's like a brand beans. Oh, okay. It's like...
It's a Koshihikari. Yeah, yeah. Locally at Shonai, at Yamagata. And
Zunda is like, more like you suritsubusu beans, and then that's what they call it.
So, technically, yeah, Dadacha could be a Zunda. Right, right, right. If you process it properly.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, okay, I see. That's why it tasted similar. Right.
I see, I see.
So, they're basically both Edamame. Yeah. I see. Right. I see, I see. It's a brand.
Branded Edamame. Yeah.
Yeah. So, it's like brand. Branded version. Yeah. That's it. Yeah. Okay. Local branded version.
Okay. All right. So, thanks for listening, guys.
But, I mean, honestly, like there are many, many, many places that we need to
discover. Explore and see. Right. Absolutely. Yeah. Absolutely. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So, that's that. All right. Thanks for listening, guys. Thank you. Bye-bye.
