この世で最も怖いのは「人間」

人間がいっちゃん怖いんよ
00:00
Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast!
Yeah, yeah, yeah!
Alright!
Okay, so we have a kind peach girl who sent us...
Peach girl?
Yep.
Right.
Who sent us a bunch of messages.
Yes.
Thank you.
So let's do this.
We did yurei things, huh?
We did, we did that.
So, "Kono yode ichiban kowai mono wa nan desu ka?"
Seems like a light question, but it's actually a really deep question.
"Kono yode ichiban kowai mono wa nan desu ka?"
I would say...
Humans.
What?
Humans, man.
Okay.
What is that?
They're the only animals that would try to manipulate something, you know?
Yeah.
Like, has a dirty stomach.
They're the only living creature with, you know, greed and hate.
And like...
Right.
That thing's nasty, man.
Yeah.
Those things, those dark energy can like do some painful things, some harmful shit.
Yeah.
Like, to a lot of things, so like, that's scary.
Like, "You can't top this."
One point English!
You can't top this!
Yeah.
Can you top this?
So if I say, "Top this."
So that's T-O-P, right?
T-O-P this.
Okay.
So that means like...
"You can't top this" means you can't name something that's more scarier than this.
Okay, okay.
So, it doesn't apply only to scarier, but like, whatever you're talking about.
Okay.
Like, if we're talking about something that's...
Can I borrow your tissue?
Sure.
Yeah, I'm sorry about that.
No, no.
So when you're talking about something like good food, and like, "Hey, let's talk about
our favorite food," and like, "What is the best restaurant in this town?"
Yeah.
And I was like, "I'm confident it's the restaurant over there."
"Oh, you can't top this.
They're the best."
So, topping something is like saying something that's at a much higher level, and something
that's better than the other person.
So, right.
Top this.
03:00
You can't top this.
Wow.
There you go.
Well, that's the...
You're the best English teacher.
Yeah.
No one can top this, huh?
Yup.
No one can top this, man.
Wow.
Top this.
Okay.
Well, that's like, you know, using simple words.
Mm-hmm.
But we never learn in a school.
Right.
And it's a kind of...
It's a little bit slang, I think.
Okay, okay.
Topping something.
Mm-hmm.
Maybe.
I don't know.
But to me, it just seems like a little bit like a slang.
Mm-hmm.
But yeah.
Okay.
So, the...
The "ichiban kowai mono."
Mm-hmm.
The human.
Yeah.
Wow.
Can you top this?
Like...
"Ichiban kowai mono."
Mm.
You don't have to top the human thing, but like what's scary for you then?
Yeah, like...
Like "kono yode ichiban kowai mono."
Mm.
Like waking up in a 3 a.m. and have to go to the bathroom.
That's scary for you, man.
Yeah, it is.
What?
Or...
Like coming to my house, to my home in a late night, like 12 or 1.
Mm-hmm.
And have to go walk through the narrow night street.
Mm-hmm.
That's scary.
That's scary.
Yeah.
Like...
Especially the little...
The car.
Like huge car.
Like van.
Huge car.
Van?
Mm-hmm.
Or parking.
Why?
Beside.
What?
That's scary, huh?
Why?
There's nothing scary about that.
Really?
How is that scary?
Maybe there are some crucial people inside and try to kill me, maybe.
Really?
Right?
When I walk by, like it's scary to me.
Like I'm thinking like maybe...
These bad guys will come out of the van and try to kidnap you?
Yeah.
Right.
Wow.
So that's it.
That's crazy imagination shit, man.
Really?
Or...
Like waking up at 2 a.m. and be scared.
Or for you, is it maybe like waking up at 3 p.m. and be like, "Oh, I had to wake up at 9 and go to this event."
Oh shit, it's 3 p.m.
That's scary, too.
That's scary, too.
That's scary, too.
06:00
Oh, also.
Okay.
Also what?
When you take a train, you have to make a line, right?
Yes.
And when you are at the beginning of that line and a train is coming, that's scary to me.
Why?
Maybe someone is going to be pushing me to that...
In front of that train.
You know what?
That I kind of understand.
Yeah?
Like, yeah, I don't know why, but I kind of understand that.
Like, yes, that happens to me.
I get that feeling sometimes.
When that happens to me and when the train is coming, I take one step back and try to like this so that if that guy pushes me, I can keep myself standing.
Holy shit, I understand that.
Like, I never thought someone else would feel the same way.
Oh, really?
So, you're really surprised here?
Yeah, that happens to me, too.
Yeah.
So, what I do is I don't turn back and check if...
Sometimes I do, but I don't usually turn back and check if no one is around me.
But what I do is I'm standing, right?
And the train is coming, and I put energy on my right foot.
If the train is coming from the left, right?
Okay.
Sorry.
If the train is coming from the right side, right?
And then you put energy, and then you put on the right side of your feet.
And then you're going to like...
Left side?
Sorry, left side of your feet.
You're going to put energy on the left side of your feet, the opposite side, right?
And then maybe a little bit, put it forward a little bit, right?
And then put energy on it.
So, if somebody pushes you, what I can do is push myself to the right.
You know, what is it?
Push myself, kick myself to the right.
You know, kick the ground.
Yeah.
Kick myself to the right using my left leg, right?
So that I can... so that I won't fall into the rail.
I'll just hit myself against the running train.
Yeah, that's what I would do.
Wow.
I know that's strange, but I didn't think that you'd feel the same way.
Yeah.
Well, that's scary.
I kind of do understand that.
Or... or like simply the high place.
I'm scared.
High, like tower, high tower with glass floor.
09:04
Yeah.
That's scary to me.
Are you Koushokyousho?
I think I'm a little bit.
Not that huge, but I don't like, you know, the bridges.
Right, right.
High buildings.
You know how your legs get like electricity?
You feel like electricity running when you feel yourself at a high place?
Yeah.
Like I get that feeling not when I look down from a very high place,
but when I look at the bones of the structure.
Like when I look at like the little bullets.
What are they called?
What are they called?
Screws, screws.
When you look at the little screws that's going through the edge of the metal plate,
when I look at these little individual details, I get that electricity running.
Do you kind of, do you feel that?
Not to me.
Okay, so let's say I am in Skytree, right?
Tokyo Skytree.
I'm in the Tenboudai, right?
I'm looking at the city.
I feel nothing, like really.
I don't really feel anything.
And when I look down at the people that are walking, you know, on the streets,
maybe a little bit, you know, I feel a little bit of that scariness.
But when I look at the, you know, how can I explain this?
Yeah, I know that.
When you turn your head and then you can see the little structures
and like the little outside decorations,
outside, you know, the windows and the metal plates that are, you know, right?
And then that are at the eye level of where you are right now.
And you can see the scratches.
You can see the little, like, you know, the details of the, like the nails.
And like when you can see that, that is when I feel a little bit scared.
So you feel like this is something like might be broken?
No, not that.
Oh, really?
Right, it's not that.
Why is that?
It's because I'm seeing details that I'm not supposed to be seeing
from the ground level, you know what I'm saying?
It feels weird that I'm actually seeing the details of something that's this high,
that's something that's 300 meters high above ground.
Yeah.
But the fact that I'm seeing this detail means that I'm 400 meters above ground.
12:02
And that is kind of scary to me.
Okay.
Yeah.
I'm not scared of like this place being like falling down or anything like that.
It's just...
So that makes you realize that you are in that high place.
Yes.
Wow.
Yeah.
It's 600 meters by the way.
Tokyo Skytree.
Yeah, yeah.
Tokyo Tower is 333.
Wow.
Hey.
Yeah, so...
Well, I have never heard about that.
Never?
No.
Yeah, I don't think anyone has ever related this.
Like I can understand that that makes you scary because it seems like it will be broken
someday.
Oh.
You know, that's something that I can...
I mean, I do feel too, but...
Yeah, I don't feel anything.
I have nothing to worry.
Like I don't feel scary.
It doesn't feel scary to me.
Like the possibility of it being broken.
No, that's not.
Wow.
Yeah, so there you go.
Wow.
All right.
Thanks for listening, guys.
Bye-bye.
