Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast
Hello
Let me do a weekly shout-out
What happened to your shirt?
No, no, I thought if the microphone is right or not
Oh
Oh yeah, yours is good
Yeah, thanks
Okay, my weekly shout-out
We are doing a show on Amazon Music
It is called Kevin's English Room Podcast Plus
It's a spin-off version of this show
It's a 5-minute quick show
We answer questions we get from our listeners
Usually English questions
For example, questions like
What's the difference between
Therefore, thus, and hence
Difficult question
Difficult one
And stuff like that
I think you can find one or two takeaways
From these shows
It's free
All you have to do is download Amazon Music
And find our show and you're good to go
Yes
So, check it out if you're interested
All right
Thank you
Okay
We actually get great questions
Yeah, I mean, there are a lot of
We've done several TikToks
Based on these questions
Yeah
It was an eye-opening question
I'm like, wow
Right
I never thought of that
Yeah
That's great
All right
Do the usual episode
Yep, get those usual ones in
Okay
This is from Roby-san
Okay
Thank you
Thank you
Kevin-san, Yama-chan, konnichiwa
Konnichiwa
Thank you
Thanks for listening, guys
Thanks for sitting, guys
Okay
Thank you
This is the third time
we've had comments on my ending
Yeah
On the show's ending
Right
The phrase
But this person understood
03:00
Yeah
What I was saying
Did you catch my understood?
Yeah
It wasn't clear enough
Did you hear that?
Yeah
I noticed
You noticed that, right?
It wasn't as clear as other words
The other words
I'm sick and tired of this
Me not being able to pronounce this word
That's weird
It's weird
Yeah
But anyways
Yeah
But this person understood
What I was saying
Yes, yes
That's great
Thanks for listening, guys
Thanks for listening, guys
Thanks for listening, guys
Thanks for listening, guys
Thanks for listening, guys
Thanks for sitting, guys
Is what she thinks
Yeah
She hears, right?
She
Thanks for sitting, guys
Thanks for sitting, guys
I guess it's close
Thanks for listening, guys
Thanks for sitting, guys
Oh, true
Thanks for sitting, guys
I'm saying thanks for sitting, guys
Thanks for sitting, guys
Wow
Thanks for sitting, guys
Wow
If it's the show ending
And then you say that phrase
I naturally like think
Oh, thanks for listening, guys
Really?
Yeah
I can easily miscatch that phrase
Your brain automatically fixes it
Yeah
Yeah
Thanks for sitting, guys
Wow
Okay, I'm gonna do a test on which one I said, right?
Yeah, yeah, yeah
I'm gonna do a random
Okay, please
Thanks for sitting, guys
Wow
Can you say that again?
Thanks for sitting, guys
Is that sitting?
That is sitting, yes
Wow
You're correct
Wow, wow, wow, wow
Okay, let me do it again
Okay
Thanks for sitting, guys
Is that sitting?
That is correct
Okay, okay, okay
Thanks for listening, guys
Is that sitting?
That is listening, guys
That was listening
I think it's very close then
Yeah, it is close
It is close
Wow
I didn't know that
Listening
Thanks for listening
Thanks for sitting
It's very different
Yeah
If you say it slowly
Yeah
But when you say it fast
Thanks for listening
And really kind of crunch it into like a single phrase like me
I guess it gets real close
Wow
That's funny
Yeah
Do you know the
企画 from the TV show
that like
could be
Are you right?
Oh, my eyes
Yeah, I've got it
Okay, okay
お疲れ様です could be
like you can
you can say anything
Ah
If you say
Like what?
Beginning with an O
Ah
And then like end with a star kind of
Ah
Then you can say anything
Like probably a different show
But I've seen similar 企画
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah
Like a
So if you say like
For example like
And then people will understand like
Kind of
Right, right
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Like how far you can get
and stuff like that
Right, right, right
When will the other person kind of catch
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah
Yeah
Thanks for listening
There's also one phrase
that you can maybe
You can do that
say anything
You can do that
You can do that
Right
Wow, it's funny
We've done a TikTok of like
How you doing?
Yeah
How you doing
can be anything
if you just have the
don't
don't
Ah
Yeah, I guess that's the same concept then
Yeah, yeah, yeah
I think it was like
one of the ones we did was like
It's like
Can you say how you doing to me
and I'll say it back to you
Okay, okay, okay
Hey, how you doing?
Oh, how you doing?
Yeah
That's how you're doing
You're saying how you're doing
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Wow
It sounds like how you're doing
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Brain kind of fixes it all
Right, right, right
Because you told me
that you were going to say
Then I could kind of
slightly understand
Nuance from it
But if you didn't tell me anything
I would naturally
like without any notice
Uh-huh
Yeah
Just like that
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Wow
Interesting though
That's interesting
Yeah
Funny
Right
But like
you know we did
can be anything
from someone's DM
Yes, I remember
Yeah, like
donald's
Yeah, yeah
Maybe English would be
easier than Japanese
if you do these things
Because there's the
Yeah, yeah, and like
accent you have
That's true
If you have the accent
Right
fixed
then all the rest is
free
That's funny
Yeah
Yeah
Quick answer for the
Okay
New Year's
Oh, yes, yes, yes
Yeah, we
Sure
In America, it's
Christmas is more like the family season
And I think
New Year's is more like
the lover's season
Like you
There's this cliche of like
the New Year's
the timing of when it hits zero
Like everyone would kind of kiss
So that's there
And after that
Japan has like the
三日日
But like I guess
US only closes
during the first day
January 1st
And then second and third
you just kind of
back to usual
Sure
So that's how it kind of is
Okay
Same in France
Same in France
Yeah, yeah
It's like
you have some kind of
some dramas or movies
like Countdown
and then
if it turns
when it turns into New Year's
then some love things happen
Right
You know, it's like
those, those
Yeah, it's more
romance
Yeah, in France
Family time
Yeah
09:00
When I was in France
we did a party
Okay
When we went to the club
Oh, shit
Yeah, that's
that's how they, you know, spend time
Uh-huh, uh-huh
That's good
All right
Yeah
All righty
Thanks for listening, guys
Thank you
Bye
