第52話: 層位学について調べたよ

テーマは「層位学」。地層が下にあるほど古いという「地層累重の法則」を考古学に応用した研究方法。コトハが部屋の片付けで地層のような物の重なりを発見したことからこのテーマを紹介。本編では、層位学の定義や、遺物の形で年代を判断する「型式学」との関係、京都市の発掘調査の具体例などを解説。リコは歴史がミルフィーユのようだと例え、二人は人為的な攪乱など年代決定の難しさについても学んだ。
