The seminar was attended by 31 young police officers from Gunma, Ibaraki, and Tochigi Prefectural Police. In the seminar, the officers first learned theories about eyewitness age and memory bias, and then practiced drawing the face of a person they had seen for only a short time based on their memory.

According to the police, 106 sketches were created in the prefecture last year, and 17 of them led to the arrest of the perpetrator.
