A survey conducted by the Gunma Construction Industry Association in May found that the number of construction companies considering hiring foreign workers has increased by more than 2.6 times compared to two years ago.
Of the 242 companies that responded, 48 companies are actually hiring foreign workers, totaling 148 people.
85 companies said they are considering hiring foreign workers in the future, accounting for about 35% of the total.
