A demonstration experiment of shinkansen commuting to school using Karuizawa Station began in Naganohara Town and Tsumagoi Village on the 16th.

On the morning of the first day, 11 students arrived at Karuizawa Station in a shuttle van and boarded the Asama Shinkansen trains departing at 6:44 AM and 7:15 AM. They arrived at Takasaki Station in approximately 20 minutes and then continued on to the station nearest to their school.
