Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast. Hi guys.
So, this is Coco-san. Okay. Good day, Kevin-san and Yama-chan. Good day. My name is Coco
K-POPグループの紹介
and while listening to your November 15th podcast episode, 最近ハマっているK-POPはある?
I felt the urge to send you a message for the first time because there's a K-POP group I really
want to recommend. Okay. It's called All Day Projects. Okay. I'm not familiar. All Day Projects.
It sounds like a name of an audition or something like that but All Day Project is actually their
official group name. All Day or All? All. A-L-L. All Day Projects. They are a co-ed group of five.
How should I read this? What does it say? C-O-E-D. Co-ed? Co-ed? I don't know.
So, they're a co-ed group of five. Two boys and three girls produced by Teddy, the famous producer
of BLACKPINK. Oh, okay. The members are all unique and except for the one main vocalist, the other
four are rappers. Okay. For the boys, there's Tarzan, a former model and contemporary dancer.
Okay. And Woochan, who appeared as the youngest contestant on the hip-hop survivor show,
Show Me Money 6. Okay. When he was just 13. For the girls, they have Annie Moon, the hairless
of the SINSEGAE group. Okay. She's also a student of Columbia University.
Yongseo, who placed second on the audition show for I-LIT. I-LIT, yeah. And Bailey Sok,
the insanely talented dancer choreographer who has worked with aespa, BLACKPINK's Lisa
and Red Velvet, including their upcoming release, One More Time, on November 17th.
Is this guy advertising? I'm sure he's not. November 17th, they only have three songs so far.
They're YG Style. What is that? YG Style. So, it's different jibushos, right? Jibusho has
different colors and styles of music. Okay. YG has its own sort of style of music. Okay.
So, their YG Style, strong girl crush vibe, might not be exactly your usual taste if you prefer
new zines, Kevin-san. The One More Time might be the closest, but I hope you give them a try.
Okay. By the way, I'm currently a university student in Brisbane, Australia, and I love
spending my weekends relaxing at the Gold Coast. Okay. Highly recommended. Yeah. Sounds nice. Sounds
nice, yes. So, this is them. I gave it a Google. Okay. Really rare that they have boys and girls
in the same group. Are they? Very rare. Huh. Yeah. It's usually just girls or just boys. I see, I see.
That's new. That's new. I'll give it a try. I'll give it a listen. Yeah, yeah, yeah. What's the YG
Style, by the way? Yeah, so it's like what the message says. It's kind of like a girl crush
kind of style. It's like kakkoii. Oh, I see. Girls kakkoii kind of style. It's like Blackpink.
音楽の影響と理解
Okay. Like aespa. Okay. Can you explain it without using those K-pop terms? Yeah.
Okay. Nouns and everything. If it's possible, yeah. Yeah, of course. It's like, you know...
I know Blackpink, by the way. You know Blackpink. You know their music? I have like, well...
What song do you know from Blackpink? I know... So, the Rosé. Is it Rosé?
Rosé? Yeah. The Don Quijote one. The Apatsu. That's Bruno Mars and Rosé.
Okay. At least I know Rosé. Do you know any music from Blackpink?
The Jennie. I know the Jennie one. Yeah, Jennie. Well, that's solo. I know that.
Well, and I... Yeah, but basically those two songs, I know.
Also, you don't know any song from Blackpink. Maybe I... If you say it, maybe I know, but
there's nothing popping in my mind, though. I think one of the biggest songs would be like,
I don't know... Um... Hit you with the...
That doesn't ring a bell? Yeah. Wow.
Was that like the... I think it's like one of the biggest ones. The chorus part? Yeah.
Well, okay. You're probably not going to know, but let me just explain to you.
It's like, it's like, it's like usually a girl group, girl band sings, and then
girl audiences, they become like, oh, kakkoi ne. I see. Yeah. I see. So it's not like pretty music.
Yeah. It's more like... Strong. Strong. Yeah. Like, you know, tough. I see. Like...
音楽業界の現状
Like rock? Like maybe like Beyonce-ish kind of style. Oh, I see. We run the world. I see.
Kind of, you know, like Rihanna has a strong woman kind of representation.
Oh, I see. Kind of similar. So it's, yeah, just like this message, I guess it's opposite from
those like New Genes times. Yeah, New Genes is not much of a girl crush. Like gentle, like cute.
Yeah. Oh, I see. By the way, you know New Genes? They're coming back. Oh, really? Finally? Yeah.
It's what... It's not an official thing, but all of the members have... I don't know if they stated
but there's hodo of like they're going back to a door to work with a door. Okay. Are they happy
with that? Like... That no one knows. Like we're all questioning if they're happy with it. But...
With the Min Heejin? So see, that's where I'm like, what's going to happen to Min Heejin?
I don't think Min Heejin is coming back. Oh, okay. Or I don't know if E.O.G.O. is coming back. Oh.
What I want to see is those three players, you know, the New Genes and Min Heejin and E.O.G.O.
I want their music. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's what I want to hear. So I don't... Yeah. I'm great.
Like I'm happy that they're coming back, but I really want to hear Min Heejin and E.O.G.O.
collaboration. Right. If there's no of those two people, it's like... I don't know. It's like the
cake without strawberry. I know. I mean, something like that, right? Like it's just...
Right? It's obviously going to have a different taste. Right. It's obviously going to have a
different style. Right. So I see. Yeah. We'll see what happens. Yeah. It's not official yet.
Yeah. I mean, Adora hasn't stated anything yet. Okay. But there's leaks all over. Yeah.
Yeah. I know. But at least you're happy. At least I'm happy. At least something, you know,
at least it moved forward. Yeah, yeah, yeah. True. You know, New Genes is being forgotten
day by day. Right. So yeah, at least I'm happy. Yeah. True. Yeah. Those things are very, very
difficult. Like, especially those like rights matter. Yeah. And especially in Korea. I don't
know what the hell's happening in Korea, but they always have these troubles with
jimushos. Yeah. You know? Money troubles. Yeah. Most of the times. Yeah. Yeah.
So, yeah. Hope they're gonna live happily. I know. I know, right? Honestly. Yeah.
I see. Are you in some sort of a jimusho or something? Are you in some sort of a jimusho
or something? No. Are you ever going to be? Are you open to it? Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Okay.
Yeah. Okay. Is it, is it better for, is it better, is that a merit to be under a label or some sort
of a company? It depends. It depends. Oh, I see. Yeah. You have to be careful about that. Yeah.
Like, you have to understand what the contract is. Yeah. What they're offering and what you're
offering. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. True. But yeah, I'm open for that. Like, because I do
everything by myself and it kind of. Oh, so if you're under a company. Yeah. Then all these
videos, music videos, maybe all these production studios are going to be handed to you. Yeah. Yeah.
And with, I guess they have connections for, you know, very, very, I don't know, world famous
director or like, sure. I don't know. Yeah. And they have budget. Uh-huh. You know,
and it all like marketing budgets and everything. You know, it's, it's very expensive. Like those
music videos. Oh, is it? Or like recording a song, making lives, concerts and everything. It
needs money. What's the most expensive part about like releasing a song? Um, I would say,
so it depends completely. Yeah. But if you, for example, like those like K-pop music videos,
it's crazily expensive. Yeah. I'm sure that's crazy. It's crazy. I mean, I'm sure that's,
that's, that's fucking crazy. Yeah. But even, even not those, like the music videos that you see on
like TV, on YouTube, anywhere. Yeah. It's very expensive. Okay. Okay. It's yeah. And now,
ツアーの運営と費用
and now, you know, my budget is very limited. You know, if I, if I were in those like big
late money, I know management, like gym shows and everything, they can prepare for it,
like money and everything. So, so that's a, that's a, that's a good big, big upside.
So right now for your process, what's, what's the most, what's the biggest money taker in your
process? Um, I would say, so in, in all project, making live concert, that's the biggest. Making
live concert? You mean like, you mean doing a concert, doing a concert? Yeah. So like the con,
so the, um, what the concert hall fee, concert hall fee, musicians fee,
or like janken fee. Yeah. Rehearsals, studio fees, um, the transfer fees for everybody.
Okay. The Shinkansen. Yeah. Right now I'm doing the Zenkoku tour.
Uh-huh. You, and it costs a lot. Oh, wait, how many cities? Um, nine cities,
including Okinawa and Hokkaido. Oh, how many people? Um, around 10. Around 10? Including
everybody. Are you serious? Yeah. That's a lot. Yeah. 10? Yeah. We need them. You need 10? Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Definitely. Because I cannot do like, I don't know, reception is everything.
Oh. I can't, I, I, I won't, I can't, and also I want to focus my, my performance. Yeah. You can't
do the, um, um, everything by myself. I see. You need people. Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh. Yeah,
less than 10 though, but around 10. Around 10? Yeah. Oh, that's gonna cost a lot of money. Yes.
Yeah. True. Yes. Oh. It's way bigger than I thought, actually. Yeah.
Yeah. Yes, yes. I see. Yeah. I see. But it's still worth it though, right? What do you mean,
worth it? Yeah, I love it. I'm enjoying it. Yeah. I'm having a time of my life.
The way you just answered that question just worries me.
Like, I'm talking, I'm talking budget-wise, it's worth it though, right? What do you mean,
budget-wise worth it? So is it questionable? Well, yeah. Okay. I see. Well, that's tough.
Yeah. That's fucking tough, man. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Shit. Okay.
Right. Yeah. It's very difficult. Uh-huh. How, okay. Yeah. Why don't we just, how about,
I have an idea. Okay. How about, I wanna, yeah, I'm very open for anything. How about,
how about QR coding the whole entrance ship? Yeah. No. It can cut some amount. True. How about,
you ask, how about you find a staff in each city? Yeah. We're hiring the local staffs as well.
So that less than 10 is like the group of my team. Oh, your minimum, like. Yeah. Including
the musicians. Okay. So me, like musicians, four musicians, and yeah. I see. That's the minimal.
That's the very minimal, like. Yeah. I see. Yeah. Because for example, like, yeah, yeah.
I see. How about getting a, like a, like a bus? And then driving everybody. Yeah. That's one
solution though. Yeah. Yeah. There are some bands that does that. Oh, that does that? Yeah. Okay.
So that's one solution. Yeah. But it might, but it takes time. Yeah. It's so. Right. It's energy
draining as well. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You get tired. Yeah. Who wants to sit in the bus for an hour?
Right. Right. Right. And musicians are busy as well. True. Yeah. That's true. If you are a band
and we all kind of like into everything kind of mode. Yeah. Yeah. You can like take two days
into like driving everybody. Right. That's one solution. But yeah. But where if everybody's
doing their own stuff. Yeah. Yeah. They have to move by their own. Well, that's tough. It's tough.
It's, I would say it's way bigger than I first thought. Yeah. Before the touring starts. I see.
I see. Yeah. I see. So is there ever going to, you're not going to stop doing the tours, are you?
No. In the future. But I once thought about it. Like it's not sustainable if we do this like
forever. It's. I see. Yeah. I have to do something. I have to do something. Yeah. It's not sustainable
at all. Honestly. Shit. So it's crazy. Yeah. It's crazy. It's crazy. Yeah.
音楽業界の現実
So, yeah. So we have still like some seats available. Guys, there are seats available. Please
come to the show. Can you buy digital tickets where you look at it live digitally?
Oh, what do you mean? Like the streamings you mean? Yeah. Not on the store. I see. Because we
need like streaming machines and streaming people and streaming cameras and everything. I see.
That's more investment. Yeah. I see. Like if you have like, I don't know, 10,
hundreds of thousands of people watching me, then it can be paid. I see. I don't know.
Well, I can stream with this iPhone though, but who's going to see that? Oh, okay. I see.
Yeah. But honestly. Honestly. Yeah. It was much more expensive than what you originally thought.
Yeah. Didn't know about those like music industry and music business. Oh, I see. Yeah. But I'm sure
the show itself is good. The show itself is very good. Right. It's full of heart. Yeah. Yeah. It's
the musicians are, they're so good. Yeah. So I'm proud of it. But that reminded me,
that I remember several months ago, one of the, one of the top musicians, he dances and sings
very well. Solo male. Oh, Japanese. Yeah. He was like on social media is like, Hey guys,
I saw guys need your help. The soul. It's not, it's not full yet. Yeah. Please. Can you guys like
for him to do that? I mean, how fucking tough is this business? You know? That's what I thought.
It's very not. Yeah. Of the quality. Right. And like the business success. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I
mean, how many times has he been on the right? One of the top, the top. Yeah. He dances, he sings at
the same time. He's so good. Right. But tough business. Yeah. I'm sure. Whereas, you know,
just some random Chika idol who gets crazy attention at the same time. It's difficult.
You know, it's social media happens. Yeah. Right. Yeah. Yeah. It happens. I know it.
Yeah. All right. Thanks for listening guys. Bye. But I'm happy. I'm having,
but you're happy. I'm enjoying what's happening right now. Right. Just. Yeah. Yeah.
