ポッドキャストの紹介
Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast.
Hello.
Oh, I forgot to do a shout out.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
On Kevin's, sorry, on Amazon Music, we're doing a show called Kevin's English Room
Podcast Plus.
It is a five minute spinoff version of this show, where we answer questions from our
listeners we get on the DMs.
Yes.
They're usually English questions, quick, quick and maybe educational, hopefully.
Yeah.
And it's free.
All you have to do is download Amazon Music, log in with your free account, and
just start enjoying the show.
There was one accident where I accidentally switched this one episode that was like
not got Amazon, like, limited, we got it.
Okay.
Yeah.
And it was like locked.
Oh, maybe to the maybe to the paid account.
But that was accidental.
Okay.
And I hope I think it's it's switched back to the free version.
So yeah, it's you don't have to pay for this.
And some people thought like, hey, Amazon Plus is now, you have to pay for it.
Yeah, okay.
That was accidental.
It should be switched back to now.
I don't have any plans to get it into the paid version.
So you guys can enjoy it for free.
So go ahead and give it a try, guys.
Thank you.
Right.
All right.
Right, right.
All right.
Yeah, they must be surprised.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's finally.
Right.
Yeah.
Right.
Okay.
We do have to start thinking about monetization, though, without Amazon.
Yeah.
We have to think about this project without Amazon.
Like, what would happen if Amazon stopped sponsoring this?
We're gonna have to think about our income sources, you know?
We're really completely relying on the super Amazon.
Yeah.
Right.
So it is something to think about.
It is something to think about.
Yeah.
That's right.
That's right.
So, okay, this one.
Harune-san.
Harune-san.
Yamachan, Kevin-san.
Konnichiwa.
Konnichiwa.
I always enjoy learning about podcasts.
Thank you.
メガネ店での経験
I'm currently working at a glasses store.
Because of the impact of the inbound, many foreigners have started coming to my store.
Okay.
So here's a question.
What criteria do foreigners use when choosing glasses?
Hmm.
Okay.
So I don't know about the fashion trends in America on glasses.
Okay.
But the one thing I do know, that it's very different from Japan.
Oh, really?
When you look at these, the American glasses companies, like Jin's in Japan or Zoff in Japan.
Okay.
For example.
Like you mean Jin's in the USA?
Yeah.
The USA version of Jin's or Zoff.
Oh, I see.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I see.
That's interesting.
Yeah.
How about Lenscrafters?
Is that a big company?
I guess it's a big company.
Lenscrafters?
Lenscrafters.
If you go to their homepage and look at their glasses, many of them are really kind of different from what we would choose.
Especially for me, I think it's different from the women's choices.
Okay.
Well, first of all, it's the sunglasses.
Well, yeah, this is sunglasses.
And also, this isn't something popular in Japan, no?
Yeah, it's not.
It's not.
Yeah.
The shape, the square-y shape.
There's so many that, see, look at this.
This one's kind of different.
Let me quickly show the camera.
Like this one, right?
This one's kind of different.
You know, it's, so the edges, the corners, the top corners.
Yeah.
So, so the left, the top left, right corner, it's pulled up.
Yeah.
Like a tsurime-ppoi, to iuka.
Right, right, right, right.
A lot of them have that.
Okay.
Yeah.
It gives it, yeah, it's, yeah, it's too, it's too strong for the Japanese, I think.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
It looks to me, it's the glasses that the really strict math teacher is wearing.
I get you.
Usually red.
Yeah, red, yes.
Usually red glasses.
Yes, yes, yes.
I get it.
I get what you're saying, but yeah, I mean, absolutely, absolutely.
So that shape is popular.
That shape.
So I don't know about popular, I don't know what's trending.
Okay.
I'm not following that, but I do know that it's selling, they're selling a lot.
So I guess that makes it popular, but.
I see.
Yeah.
We don't see this shape in Japan that much.
No.
It has like too much character on it.
Yeah, I know.
I see.
Yeah.
So you're, in Japan, kurobuchi is a very classic, like, you know, it fits everybody.
Yeah.
But I don't think that's, you know, kurobuchi, that's not something that's there in America.
No, I don't think so.
Yeah.
Rather kind of like too oshare.
アメリカのメガネトレンド
Kurobuchi?
Yeah.
So it's really different.
This is a different brand.
Vision Source.
That's another shop.
I've never heard of that name, Vision Source.
Yeah, true.
We're selling glasses in Uniqlo or Ito Yokado's or like E.ON's and.
See, look, like this shape, this shape.
True.
The outer side, outer upper side is like.
It's raised up.
Yeah, raised up.
And the color is like, not like a black flamed, black frame.
Black framed?
Yeah.
It's like brown, maybe, or golden, maybe, bright, maybe.
I see.
Don't you think they're bigger?
Yeah.
The lenses are bigger than Japan.
Yeah.
They cover their face a lot.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Oh, I see.
Yeah.
So it's very different.
It's very different.
Okay.
The trend than in Japan.
So maybe like this tsuriagatteru shape, glasses will be more sought.
Than Japan, that though.
Yeah, yeah.
So they, the gaikokujin no okyakusama, in this message, they would probably prefer those shapes, maybe?
Yeah, they're not, I mean, you don't find that so many.
And then Jin's was off, so, right.
I see.
Different culture, huh?
True.
Have you had, do you buy your glasses yet?
Not yet.
Oh, still struggling.
Still, still trying to get your way through these glasses shops, huh?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But I'm looking for something smaller, I would say.
Like, this is too big for me.
Like...
Talking about the size of the lens?
Okay.
I don't want something like covering whole my face, but more like a smaller version of it.
Like a reading glasses looking thing.
I think so.
Is it reading glass smaller?
Like round, small?
Yeah, well, it doesn't have to be that small.
Okay.
But like a relatively, like, smaller than the average Japanese.
I think so.
Glasses.
Yeah.
Obviously than these American glasses.
Oh yeah, I mean, look good.
I think they'll look good on you, man.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
But it's always difficult and dangerous.
Yeah.
What do you mean difficult and dangerous?
It's not dangerous.
Did you try going?
Um, no, not yet.
You didn't even try?
Oh, man.
You're always such, you're a guy that embraces new experiences and, you know, you love going to new countries and experiencing different cultures.
メガネのトレンド
Yes, I do.
You're just, you're so behind on that glasses world.
What happened to you, man?
It's just so scary.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Uh, I think, uh, next week I'm doing my, uh, ICL shit.
We should be, uh, we should do it together.
Not, not the ICL, but like you should do glasses and I do my ICLs.
Yeah.
And, uh, it's a great, uh, together, like shifting of the, uh, eyewear shit.
Nice, nice.
Yeah.
It'll be great.
Next week?
Yeah.
Next week.
You should do it.
You should do it.
You should check it out.
Okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Thank you.
That, that, that encourages me a lot.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You should do it.
Yes.
Yes.
I need those things.
Yeah.
All right.
Thanks for listening guys.
Thank you.
Bye.
