Randy's Doughnutsの体験
Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast. Hello guys.
Okay, last one.
Do you have any?
I don't actually. We've been to, you know, several places as a team, right? But I didn't bring it protein.
I bring protein. Okay. I bring, no, no, I don't bring protein. I bring protein shake.
The shaker. Oh. And I buy the protein. I see, I see. So I guess that's not, that doesn't answer the question.
So I guess no. Yeah. No. Me neither. Yeah. I've never.
Maybe because we don't stay there long enough. True. You know, just stay there for a week.
Yeah. That's it. Yeah. And we're kind of here to, we're kind of there to sort of, you know,
get a feel of the food. Yeah. So I guess we're kind of here to sort of like, right,
experience what's there. So not to be comfortable, I guess. Yeah. So I guess that's why.
We're okay. Yeah. We're relatively okay. Right. Being far away from Japan. Yeah. Japanese foods.
Yeah. We're rather kind of enjoying the local things, even though they're not your food.
文化の違いと食事
Yeah. Your everyday food. Yeah. I wonder what the people in UK bring to Japan when they are here
for like a week or two to like feel at home. I wonder what that is.
Like, I mean this in a respectful way, though. Okay.
I don't know why you're laughing, but I mean this in a very respectful way.
It's just a curiosity point that I have. That's it. That's it. Yeah.
But true. Right. I think there's nothing they can...
Nothing you can't buy in Japan. Yeah. Right. Nothing you can't really...
I don't know how... So it's like if you have soy sauce, you can make it as Japanese food. Like
even if it's like fish and chips, you can soy sauce it and kind of make it Japanese food. But
yeah, I cannot think about any idea that they can turn Japanese foods into British food.
True. That's true. Maybe some vacuum things to like salt vacuum or...
What the hell is that? I don't know. To extract out the... Yeah. Right. Exactly. It's more about
taking it away and adding something on to it. Right. So... What American people bring to Japan
to... To feel at home? Yeah. Oh, sorry. For the British people, maybe tea. Oh, tea. Yeah. Yeah.
Maybe that's true. Yeah. Yeah. It's a big culture. For Americans, I don't know. Maybe
maybe like Twinkies.
Yeah. Those little snacks. True. Yeah. These like little, you know, like... Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Twinkies. I don't know. Twix.
Yeah. Lunchables. Rice Krispies. Something like that. I'm not sure. I don't know though.
Gatorade.
Powder version, maybe. Maybe powder version. Yeah.
True. When you went to Paris, you went to France. Yeah. Right. For like almost a month. Did you
miss Japanese food? Not actually. Oh. You were rather enjoying... I was enjoying... The dishes in
France. Yes. But the day I arrived to Japan, in the airport, we all went to gyudon-yasan. Uh-huh.
And just enjoyed the gyudon. Yeah. So I wasn't like missing Japanese food, but it's true that
I didn't take any of those like shoyu mirin dashi things. So that was delicious.
So yeah. There were always a part of you that was not satisfied, right? I see. Or like miso soup.
Randy's Doughnutsの訪問
Yeah. The miso soup. Right. It's a completely different topic, but I went to Randy's Donut
the other day. Like personally? I mean, yeah. Shit. I just passed by. I didn't know the Randy
Donut was there. Oh, okay. I just walked and then found it. Oh, okay. Yeah. This is Randy Donut.
Yeah. And just saw some little... The donut? Yeah. Monument? Yeah. The huge donut. It wasn't that big
though. The statue was that big? Yeah. Like this big, but... Oh, not that big? Yeah. Okay. Yeah. I
just took a photo. The one in America is pretty big. Right. That was... Well, I don't know if you
can see this, but there's nothing... It's not that big. Like I can sort of tell. That's the
the building. Yeah. Yeah. How not big that is. So, oh, this is it. So I saw some people inside.
Some donut inside. Oh, but you didn't go in? No. I just...
You answered it like, fuck no. Why would I fucking go to a donut place? I just enjoy seeing this store.
Okay. How was it? It was colorful inside. Oh, okay. I mean, I guess donuts were colorful.
Oh, yeah. Pink. Okay. I don't know. Green. It's fun. Yeah. And like... I don't know. I'm not sure, but I
thought... What I'm believing is that the donut was like kind of moving.
What? I'm pretty sure like... It was moving? Yeah. Like on the wall. Like, you know... Like a
decoration? No, it was the actual donut on a display. And then they were like moving. What the hell?
That's what I... Well, that's what you saw. I think. That's what you believe you saw. Yeah.
Okay. Were they making a huge line? No. Oh. No. There were... You know, inside the store,
there were like seats. Yeah. And outside, just in front of this statue, they have the seats. But
I would say 30% was full. But... That's it? Yeah. Half of the seats were empty.
So I guess you can... So you can probably just go in? Yeah. And buy a donut and just sit down?
I could go in and just order the donut. I didn't, but... I know. Thank you for the emphasis.
But you can. There were no line at all. Maybe the time... It wasn't just daytime.
Well, then maybe people have caught up with the reality?
Well, or maybe they have like a ticket thing still? Maybe that's true. Maybe that's it. So
people couldn't come? Yeah. Because they need a ticket. Maybe that's true. Maybe. That's probably
it. Yeah. That's probably it. Yeah. Hopefully, that's it. Okay. I see. Yeah. Do you know the
新しいMr. DonutのMochi Mochi
new Mr. Donut? New product? The Mochi Mochi? Oh, I heard that name. Mochirin. Mochirin. Mochirin.
Yeah. I said like five different names. Yeah. That one, right? Yeah. I wanted to try that. Yeah,
me too. I've never... I've never seen it in stores. But it's sold out everywhere, right? I know. It's
sold out. I don't know if it's coming back though. Oh. Hopefully, it comes back, right? It was like
limited ones? I don't think so. Oh, I would love to try that. Right? Yeah. Please. Please. Some
store. Have it. Yeah. They don't have it anymore? Or like they don't sell it anymore? Well, I think
they still have it. Okay. So you go early and you can just... Yeah. If I get one, I'll bring one
here. We'll share. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm sure you don't want to go for a full donut. I don't know
if it's that good or not. So. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Let's share. See if it's good. All right. Thanks
for listening, guys. Thank you. Bye-bye.
