This is Reinamoto's podcast, The Creative Mindset.
Hi everyone, welcome to The Creative Mindset, a podcast about what the future holds at the
intersection of creativity and technology. I'm Reinamoto, the founding partner of I&CO,
a global innovation firm based in New York, Tokyo, and Singapore.
On this podcast, we explore the creative mindset of the world's top creative practitioners from
various industries and explore ways for staying relevant in the 21st century.
In addition to the in-depth conversation with each guest on the show, we have a lightning
questions segment where we ask each guest to react intuitively to a handful of simple
questions on the spot. It often reveals unexpected truths about them as real human beings just like
us. You'll really enjoy it. So, let's get started.
Lightning Questions
During the interview, we dig deep into different topics surrounding creativity.
On the contrary, with this section, we ask the same questions to the guests to react on the
spot and we don't let them see the questions in advance.
Rapid-fire questions, so let's go.
Question number one, if you weren't doing this kind of work, what else would you be doing?
Oh wow, motorcycle racing.
Yeah. That's the first thing that came to mind. I mean, I love motorcycles. I don't actually ride
because probably just the danger. But if I could do anything, it would be to race motorcycles.
Just think that's awesome.
Excellent. Question number two, if you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
Ooh, Jamaica.
Jamaica?
Yeah, I love Jamaica. I love the food, culture, the vibes. If it's up to me, we always vacation
there.
Yeah, yeah. Question number three, and I think this may be related to the second question,
where's the next place you'd like to travel to?
Well, I've gone to Jamaica lots. So, outside of Jamaica, it would be Thailand.
Thailand?
I've been to Thailand. I'm a fan of the food and the culture and yeah, I'd love to go there.
Yeah. What's your favorite type of food?
Barbecue.
Barbecue?
Yeah.
Question number five, what's your favorite time of your day?
Morning, like 5 a.m. It's quiet. That's like the golden hour for me and innovation and ideas.
Yeah. Do you wake up at 5 a.m.?
Yeah.
What's your morning routine like?
I wake up 5 a.m. I typically probably have some ideas I want to sketch out or
write or something like that. And I kind of get whatever the biggest creative problem
du jour is, I'm thinking about that from like about 5 to 6, 6.30. Just like dwelling on that.
And then yeah, I start to get ready for the kids. I have a routine. I'm the chief drop-off officer
of the family. So yeah, I start getting like the breakfast ready and everything. And then I
ultimately get the kids up and get them dressed and everything.
What time do you go to bed?
Probably not as probably later than I should. But yeah, usually around 10 or so.
Seven hours, six, seven hours sleep?
Yeah.
Yeah. Cool. What's your favorite song or type of music?
I'd say like old school hip hop, maybe.
Hmm.
Yeah.
Do you have a favorite artist?
I mean, Park, definitely.
Definitely.
Yeah. Yeah. Tupac, definitely. There's a lot of artists I love, but that brings back a lot of
good memories.
Right. What was the biggest turning point in your life?
Getting that airbrush set with Jun Y.
Oh, wow.
No question. Yeah. That turned like something I was talented at into like a profession, basically.
