Haitai people! *English below

Did you know that ingredient of most sunscreen causes damage to coral reefs?
Yukino is Okinawa based ethical entrepreneur who produces reef-safe sunscreen, also 500yen clean-up project called Manatii Project.
It is just easy to say "protect the environment", but doing actual eco-friendly business gives people positive influence is pretty hard.
Thank you for sharing with us a very important mind to our mother nature!
*Episode mostly spoke in Japanese.

What's up amazing people, this is iYASASA RADIO by Akane and Minami.
In this radio, we are going to talk about random topics in Okinawan, Japanese and English.
はいたい。

ぐすーよーちゅーがのびら。
イヤササレディオのアカネとミナミやいびん。

Hi, so we have a guest today, Yukino Kinjo.
She's one of my friends and she's an ethical entrepreneur in Okinawa.
And she has her products which is Reef Safe Sunscreen in サンゴニアサシヒヤケドメ in Japanese.
And also she's doing the Mana Tea Project which is 500 yen cleanup project.
So, I've been interested in beach cleaning and also I'm a fan of サンゴニアサシヒヤケドメ.
And I met her like last year through my husband and her husband.
And she's one of the most interesting person now.
So, I invited her today.
Thank you for coming.
Thank you for inviting me.
It's first time to see her in person actually.
But I've been heard about her from Akane and the others.
So, I'm looking forward to it.
Thank you very much.
Thank you very much.
So, from the beginning, you've been called as an ethical entrepreneur.
Do you call yourself as a social entrepreneur?
Yes, I do.
I'm an ethical entrepreneur.
I'm an ethical entrepreneur because I'm a social entrepreneur.
And among the ethical entrepreneurs, I want to say more about ethical topics.
So, I use different words.
So, it's almost the same.
But I think Katakana is easier to understand.
Yes, it is.
It's the ethical in the society.
There are various things in the society.
For someone who doesn't know about ethical,
which means
Which project did you start from the beginning?
I used to be a party promoter.
That's totally different.
Party people.
I was just a party person.
But at that time,
even though it was a flashy job,
I was thinking about everyone's smile,
a moment of joy,
03:01
and everyone's happiness.
So, for me, it's all the same.
It's connected.
Even if the barbershop doesn't have a lot of budget,
they can wear fashionable clothes,
and everyone can feel happy as a woman.
That's what I was thinking about.
So, for me, it's all the same.
Where did you have your boutique?
Okinawa City.
Okinawa City.
Two.
Yes.
First, I started out in Okinawa City,
then moved to Naha.
After five years.
So, you're from Koza,
in Okinawa City,
and after that, where did you go?
Naha.
Naha?
No, no.
A long time ago.
After that, I went to Osaka for half a year.
Actually, I did it at home.
Half a year?
At home?
It's going to be longer at home.
I can't do it at home.
So, I went to college,
and did it at home.
First, I went to work in Osaka.
I wanted to see what it was like.
Then, I went to Tokyo.
So, I did it at home for a year.
Then, I came back.
Then, I went to school for a year.
Then, I came back, but I never came back.
After that, I went to Tokyo for five years,
then I went to New York for three years, and came back.
So, you worked, went to school,
and worked again.
Yes.
The first time you went to Tokyo,
what did you do for work?
I did everything.
I worked part-time.
I worked as a waitress.
I did fine arts.
I guess you don't call it fine arts.
I was a waitress at a Kabuki club.
It was dangerous to be a waitress.
There was a lot of noise.
When I went to Osaka,
there were phone sales.
There was a reason for that.
I have a lot of blemishes.
It's a miracle that I can talk to everyone like this.
It comes out from time to time,
but I've had a lot of blemishes for a long time.
If I don't fix it, I won't be an adult.
I thought I wouldn't be 20.
That was before you turned 20.
Yes.
What is domori?
It's a starter.
I see.
But...
Starters are tough.
What is it?
Is it like a call center?
First, you make a phone call.
You read the manual.
The worst thing about a starter
is reading the manual.
I see.
It's not easier to read something.
It's better to say what you think.
But I'm not good at making phone calls.
Starters have a lot of mental barriers.
06:03
If I don't overcome them,
I'll never be 20.
Is that why you went to Tokyo?
That's not the reason.
I did it for the first time in Osaka.
I was able to study a little.
I couldn't do it because I didn't do it when I went to college.
But I was able to play sports.
I had a lot of friends.
I was able to do a lot of things.
But I couldn't work at a normal office.
Because I couldn't make a phone call.
But I didn't know what it looked like.
So I was a piece of shit.
If I went out into society.
I was in trouble.
So I could work at a bar or a bar.
But I couldn't work as a home teacher or a teacher.
So I couldn't work as a white-collar worker.
So I worked as a service worker.
So you've met a lot of people.
You've seen a lot of people.
I don't have a negative image of the world at night.
But I thought there was a place for everyone.
I like it.
I have a lot of friends who work at night.
I like it.
I think society is getting better.
Depending on the scene you meet at night.
The people there are more human.
People who are enjoying themselves.
If you're at work, there's always a wall.
But if you work at night, you can see a lot of people.
I think it's better to do both.
I think it's better to do a lot of things at work.
Did you experience working at night in Okinawa, too?
In Okinawa, when I was 18, I had a part-time job.
Do you know what a seller is?
You put takoyaki or yakitori in a styrofoam box.
You go in for a snack and go to sell it.
Sometimes you come to the city.
I did that part-time job for the first time.
At that time, when I opened the door,
There was a store that I shouldn't have entered.
My sister was riding a horse.
She said,
I'm sorry.
There were a lot of healthy stores.
When I entered the store,
There was a little girl working there.
09:02
I was 18 years old at the time.
She was 17 years old.
That's not good.
It's illegal.
She's a mom.
How old are you to be a mom here?
She wanted me to buy her products.
She said to me,
She said,
I quit my part-time job the day after I saw that.
I was hurt.
I was going to church with her.
That's a bit of a shock.
Shock.
Did you quit on that day?
I quit on that day.
You didn't quit until you did this?
I quit on that day.
It was a good part-time job.
I also worked at a bar.
I was in Okinawa for a short period of time.
I was going to Tokyo soon.
One day, I was in Roppongi.
I was at an African bar.
I was waiting for my American boyfriend.
I was at a busy bar.
I thought I was going to work there.
That's when I started working part-time.
That's when I started working at a nightclub in Roppongi.
In Okinawa,
I saw a lot of people who liked Americans.
In Tokyo,
I saw a lot of people from that community.
Is there any difference between Okinawan amejo and mainlanders?
It's not just amejo, right?
Foreigners come first.
Africans.
The funny thing is,
half of the Africans lied about being American.
I see.
That's why they're popular.
I see.
I thought that was cute.
I thought Africans were friendly.
There were a lot of people who liked Americans.
In Roppongi Hills,
there were a lot of pretty girls who wanted to get married.
There were a lot of hip-hop amejo.
But,
there were a lot of Roppongi amejo.
There were a lot of smart Africans.
12:00
I don't know if I can talk about this,
but they were good at talking.
Tokyo was a lonely place,
so there were a lot of people who depended on each other.
What I saw a lot was
people who were put on their boyfriends' back
and eventually fell.
Fell?
Even though they had a normal job,
they were put on their boyfriends' back
and eventually fell.
Then they were put on their boyfriends' back.
There were a lot of people like that.
Because of the African guy.
Because of the African guy.
Or because of the Tokyo environment.
Most people do something crazy for someone they like.
Most people do something crazy for someone they like.
Most people do something crazy for someone they like.
And the boys were on their boyfriends' backs.
So I saw a lot of people falling.
Same with drugs.
I thought they were all lonely.
What I was lucky about was
when I went to Roppongi,
I found out that it was safer there.
I found out that it was safer there.
I found out that it was safer there.
That's amazing.
You can refuse drugs,
and there are a lot of people around you,
but you don't think it's a fun world.
In a way,
I was educated in English.
I was educated in English.
If you make one mistake, you'll fall.
My parents taught me that.
My parents taught me that.
I lived in a city at night,
I lived in a city at night,
but I saw a lot of people falling.
but I saw a lot of people falling.
But there was a good story.
There was a girl who was in prison.
She happened to be in New York.
She happened to be in New York.
Twice.
Twice.
So she was just walking?
No, she was on the train.
No, she was on the train.
They were both from Chinatown.
She was wearing a hat,
but they were looking down at her.
She was wearing a hat, but they were looking down at her.
I was married and raised in New York,
I was married and raised in New York,
I was happy.
She was a good girl.
I was sorry
that I ended up in prison.
I thought a good girl
could come back.
I thought a good girl could come back.
There must have been a god there.
Even though there were so many people falling.
I saw a lot of people who were able to go up even if they fell.
That's a good story.
It's amazing that you met in New York.
I was found twice.
Even though you were wearing a hat.
I was surprised.
That's interesting.
How was the life in New York?
15:01
I was pretty lonely.
I threw away all my career.
I quit the club manager in Roppongi and became a party promoter.
I was doing my best as a party promoter.
I was doing a party every Saturday in a big box in Shibuya.
For many years.
It's hard to do that.
But I was doing it.
You can make a lot of friends.
If you walk 20 meters, you can make friends.
I was surrounded by many people.
I was in my early 20s.
I didn't have money, but I had a lot of friends.
I had a lot of trust.
I went to New York where I didn't know anything.
I was pretty lonely.
There was a big gap.
I wish I had something to study there.
I only knew about parties.
I didn't know about that.
But I've seen a lot of people who became a party promoter.
My heart was broken.
I thought I was rehabilitated for three years.
What did I really want?
I worked so hard and had a lot of big parties.
I made a lot of friends.
But when I became zero, I realized that I hadn't realized my career.
I realized how fleeting the work at night was.
I couldn't write my resume.
I was suspended from college.
There was no company that would be happy to see my resume.
I was forced to think about a lot of things.
I didn't have time for my friends.
I was too busy with parties.
I was desperate to live.
I reflected on myself.
I decided that my life from now on would be meaningful.
I decided not to have parties anymore.
I lost interest in that.
I lost interest in being surrounded by people.
You were exhausted.
You couldn't do anything.
After three years, I came back to Japan.
I was busy again.
But I realized what I was missing and what I wanted.
18:04
It was a good realization.
How old were you when you came to America?
I was 25 or 26.
I was 28 or 29.
When you are alone in a foreign country, you tend to think about yourself.
You have time to think about yourself.
You have time and space.
You don't have to be influenced by others.
After you went to America, you came back to Okinawa.
Okinawa city.
When you came back to Okinawa from America, what did you do?
I opened a boutique, a select shop.
After you came back?
Yes.
Until then, I bought things in New York.
I sold things on Yahoo Auctions and the Internet.
I also bought things for my friend's shop.
In the meantime, I learned how to take pictures and write an explanation.
I learned where to buy things.
There are a lot of pawn shops in New York.
When I got a part-time job, I thought it was better than going to work.
When I came back, I opened a boutique.
Did you open a boutique in front of New York?
No, I opened a boutique in Tokyo.
You went to many places.
How long did you open a boutique?
I opened a boutique for 8 years.
That's a long time.
What kind of clothes did you sell?
I sold beautiful and unique accessories.
I also sold party dresses and the ones sold at department stores in the United States.
I sold long dresses and cocktails.
I think there are a lot of places like that in Nakozan.
I'm sure everyone goes there when they go to Marimboro.
I used to sell just a few dresses.
I used to sell a lot of accessories.
I used to sell a lot of accessories.
21:02
I've been doing this for 8 years.
That's a long time.
What made you close the shop and do something else?
Before that, I opened a nail salon, a dress rental shop, and a hair and makeup salon.
I gave the shop to the manager first.
Then I concentrated on the boutique.
And the boutique...
What was the question again?
After the boutique, did you open a nail salon?
Actually, I've been preparing for the nail salon for a long time.
The boutique is a long-term business.
I have a staff.
I study a lot about sunscreens.
I study a lot about sunscreens.
I sold the shop in the spring of 2017.
I sold the shop in the spring of 2017.
You shifted from the salon to the boutique.
You sold the shop in the spring of 2017.
The salon and the boutique are completely different products.
What motivated you to change the salon?
I'm worried about that.
When I went to the sea, I was told that coral would die if I applied sunscreen.
When I went to the sea, I was told that coral would die if I applied sunscreen.
At that time, I didn't want to make such a product.
I thought, why?
I thought, why?
I thought, why?
I searched the situation in America.
I found the sunscreens in Hawaii.
I found the sunscreens in Hawaii.
I thought that Japan doesn't sell such a product anymore.
I thought that Japan doesn't sell such a product anymore.
I felt that there was a contradiction, so I started to look into it more and more.
I thought, if it wasn't for my company, I wouldn't do it.
I had a sense of duty, so I decided to start.
24:02
Butik also...
Butik's motivation when it opened was...
Originally, it was sold on the internet, and it had a market.
It was a little advantageous for me, so I did it, but...
At first, there were a lot of customers who came because they could only buy it here.
Gradually, I realized that it was a job that could be done even if it wasn't me.
Everyone compares it all the time, right?
When that happened, I realized that even if it wasn't me, it wouldn't be a good job.
I didn't know what to use my time and passion for.
The store is also a living thing, so I've always thought that I had to give it to someone who would do it properly.
I've been thinking about it for a few years.
The store was doing well, but...
The timing of that and the timing of what I wanted to do overlapped, and I planned it.
If there was something I wanted to sell so far, I just happened to have a buyer.
I sold the store, did crowdfunding, borrowed money from my high school, and collected 10 million yen in total.
That's how I started Sango Ni Yasashii Hiyake.
Wow, that's amazing.
That's your partnership.
Yeah, big story.
But even though it's just Sango Ni Yasashii Hiyake, you're originally an independent person, right?
That's right.
When I listen to your stories, I can feel the strength of living alone, such as organizing and creating concepts.
You can do it even if you're not yourself.
That's why you're doing what you can do.
I really agree with it.
100%
Yeah, you're doing it.
I've just changed my shift, so it's like real-time.
There are a lot of people in the wedding planner, and I think a lot about what I can only do for myself.
That's the important thing to start a new business.
I think it's important for people of our generation, too.
That's true. I think that's the theme of my life.
What I can only do for myself.
I think it's noble to do what others can do.
If you have a strong will, you'll notice it as you live.
After all, business is done with your own money.
27:01
That's why I don't want to do anything good even if I'm not myself.
That's right.
If I'm getting paid, I'll do anything.
If I get paid, I think I'll do anything.
If it's your money, you should do what you want to do.
That's for sure.
I think I'll do anything I want to do, even if it's just a little bit, if I'm doing it with my own money.
Can you tell us a little bit about leaf-safe sunscreen?
How do you make it?
Most of the sunscreens on the market are not leaf-safe, right?
The ones sold at convenience stores and drugstores have a bad effect on coral.
It also damages the skin.
There's not much good for our skin, so there's not much good for marine life.
If you look it up, there's a lot of data on the amount of sunscreen you use.
So even if it doesn't say leaf-safe, you might think it's leaf-safe, but it's not.
It's hard to tell.
So, in the first place, coral is not on the topic of conversation.
It's really important, but it's important to the entire global environment.
It's also related to global warming.
It's very important, but the problem is that it's not talked about.
So when it comes to tourist attractions, coral is trampled on.
It's worse than sunscreen, and if you step on it, you'll die.
And if there's a shower or a barbeque place nearby, you'll die.
There's a lot going on, and we need to be aware of corals.
That's why it says, gentle sunscreen for corals.
I'm not trying to say anything bad about sunscreen.
I just want everyone to stand on the starting line of wanting to coexist with nature.
That's why I named it that way.
I'm making it with a non-concerned ingredient.
Was there anything that made you think about the environment?
There's a lot of reasons, isn't there?
30:02
I think there's a lot of reasons, like the fact that I like the sea, that I care about food, and that it's a trend.
I think it was a big shock that I wanted to do it with such a commitment.
I saw the change.
The coral is gone, it's gone.
When I was 18, I was a student at Ryudai University.
When I first went to college, I was able to get a degree in diving.
I thought it would be interesting to do it.
That's when I first went to the coral reef and saw the coral.
When I came back to Okinawa for the first time in eight years, I saw that there were a lot more tourists.
The coral and the fish were not in good health.
The fish were being taken pictures of, and they didn't look like fish anymore.
I realized that the coral was not in good health, no matter where I went.
I've been sulking about it for a long time.
I don't know the sea like this, it's more beautiful.
I've been blaming someone in the distance.
I was so sulking that I was told that the coral was going to die.
I was like, what am I doing?
That's when I realized that it was all about me.
I see, you became responsible.
I was surprised.
I have a lot of ideals about Okinawa.
People have been saying that Okinawans are kind for a long time.
There's a lot of beauty, too.
Everyone is saying that Okinawa is the best.
I'm starting to worry if everyone is thinking about the island.
I'm wondering if they really want to leave the nature of the island.
But the tourism industry is not so involved in Okinawa.
While I was looking at the situation on the ground, I was like,
If Okinawans don't do awareness properly, we can't protect this island.
When I looked up a lot of reality, it was getting more and more.
So who's going to do it?
It's not a country.
We Okinawans have to do it.
When I thought about it, I thought that there should be a sunscreen that is kind to coral reefs in Okinawa.
I don't think there is, so I think it's completely different.
Because it's a message to protect our island.
When I thought I hadn't done this one thing,
I thought I'd do it in my own company, not the other way around.
33:05
So I thought so, but I didn't think it would be this hard.
It's the hardest thing to do, isn't it?
I think it would be nice if it wasn't a little harder.
But when I do something new, I know a lot of things, so it's a little...
Project Manatee is a 500-yen network that I'm working on right now.
Everyone goes to various places, pays one coin to various locals,
Borrowing garbage bags and picking up garbage by hand.
Thanks to sunscreen, the strategy is a little more structured.
What kind of strategy is it?
I don't go to business.
I don't go to business with coral reef-friendly sunscreen.
Even if I do business, I don't know.
I don't know what's good or what's not.
So I'm going to send out a lot, and I'm going to catch people who are interested, and I'm going to wait until they talk to me.
To do that, you need time to send out and money to wait.
I started after I made the money.
There was a strategy like that.
And thanks to sunscreen,
I'm not from that area.
I know this person who used to do this.
It's good to get in.
Thanks to that, I can do it in about 80 places now.
That's great.
This Manatee project is...
There's a bag in 80 stores.
The person who wears it will borrow it for 500 yen, pick up the trash, and bring the bag back to the same place.
They'll take care of it for you.
I'll just give it all to them as it is.
I see.
I've been doing it with my bare hands.
For example, let's go for a drive to Nago.
Even if you go to Nago, you can go to Endai and buy it.
It doesn't suit people.
It's kind of lonely, isn't it?
It's just a drive.
In Manatee, there's a partner before you go.
So I'm going to do Manatee here.
I'm going to talk to the people at the joint store.
I'm going to pick up the trash for the locals.
I'm looking forward to talking a little bit.
It's an open-ended meeting.
And the people in the area, too.
36:00
By having people like this come,
We're in a remote area, but we're not just passing by.
I'm sure you'll notice that there are people who care about us.
That's really important.
When you live in the countryside, you feel a little isolated.
It's a great way to live to see someone who wants to help you.
I hope that kind of circulation will be born.
Especially in the countryside.
That's why I'm going to Manatee, which is at the end of Yanbaru.
I just thought of something.
I'm talking about Eshikaru right now.
It's like what I was talking about last night.
I feel like I'm looking at something similar.
I like to connect people and people.
What kind of activities do you like to do?
I don't want to make it my own experience.
I want to meet people from all over the world.
I want to share what I was happy with and what I enjoyed with everyone.
I want you to pay more attention to the people who were kind to me.
The most frustrating thing about the 3rd and 4th sunburns was...
There were a lot of people who looked at me in a strange way.
I recommended sunburns to the 3rd and 4th.
But everyone treated me like a religious person.
The person who recommended it was told by another person.
I've heard a lot of stories like that.
There were a lot of people who supported me the most.
I was very shocked.
It's not like I developed it.
There are a lot of products with that concept in Hawaii, America, and France.
It's not a suspicious product.
But there are people who don't like it because of the environment.
I've always thought that if good people support me,
they can get the majority.
That's what humanity can do.
There are people who want to do good things.
Even if people around me say,
When a lot of people come to me and become popular,
they say,
You know, a blonde beauty came to me.
I think I can do what she's doing.
I think I can help them.
That's what I want to do.
39:03
I want to make a face that makes it easy for good people to live.
But when you make sunscreen,
when you advertise it to the other side,
do you think it's suspicious?
What do you mean by negative people?
Is eco-friendly equal to suspicious?
There are people who can't deny everything.
There are people who are basically negative about doing new things.
I think there are people like that in everything.
So the first thing I did was
to make it easier for people like this to support me.
I did a lot of TV shows and media coverage.
I did my best.
When people ask me why I was on TV or in the news,
there are more people who listen to me.
I'm not interested in awards or anything,
but if I don't apply, I don't get an award.
So I applied and got an award.
I did a few and got an environmental award.
Gradually, people started to listen to me.
I know the pain of not being able to listen to people.
So I want to make it easier for good people.
Even if you don't have to work as hard as I do,
if you can get a majority,
if you become a partner or host on Manatee,
you'll get more friends.
I want to meet good people.
If I hear from my friends that I'm a good person,
I want to meet them.
But I pay for it, so it's not a big deal.
It's not like a dating app.
I think that's good.
That's why I'm still doing TV shows.
When you were on the sunscreen,
did you feel like your heart was about to break?
I think so.
But you kept doing it.
At first, I knew it was going to be a tough road.
So I made a plan.
When I pressed the start button of crowdfunding,
I realized that I was going to jump into a waterfall.
I couldn't go back to the way I was.
I jumped into a waterfall.
I checked it over and over again.
You made a commitment.
I made a commitment.
But the waterfall was deeper than I thought.
42:00
I didn't expect it.
I was like, oh, it's still deep.
It was long.
That's how it was.
I'm using a sunscreen now.
It's really good.
It's not a PR.
I don't usually use sunscreen.
I wanted my skin to be darker.
At first, I thought I'd use it because it's Yuki.
But it's completely different from a regular sunscreen.
I really felt that it was good for my skin.
I can't get pimples easily.
It doesn't dry out.
It's not a sunscreen.
I feel like I'm using it as a good thing for my skin.
It smells good from my face.
It's good for base makeup.
I feel like I'm using it.
It's good for your skin.
It's good for your skin.
How many types of sunscreen do you have?
I have one.
It's like a balm.
The one Akane has?
Yes.
I think it's because Yuki has overcome mountains and valleys.
I go to a lot of fashionable shops.
I think a lot of people are aware of that.
I'm so impressed that I had such a hard time.
I feel like I'm a Parisian who traveled around the world.
It's really good.
After all, I'm a Parisian.
Your idea is Parisian.
Yes.
Everybody together.
We dance together.
You came out of the house.
Manatee was fun.
I already experienced the Manatee project.
I went to Yanbaru Kuinaso with my friends.
We rented a yellow deck.
It was a beautiful beach, but there was a lot of garbage.
We picked it up.
It was good.
The owner of Yanbaru Kuinaso was very interesting.
Mr. Hiroko.
He guides us a lot about the homestay.
He told us that this is the school of Otamajakushi.
This is a bonsai tree.
I felt like I was at my grandmother's house.
He made it by hand.
There was a goat.
He brought back vegetables.
I couldn't experience that much in sightseeing.
I was able to experience what it was like to meet local people.
45:07
I was very happy when I brought garbage.
He told me that he wanted to make something out of garbage.
He told me that he was looking forward to it.
I thought it was interesting.
Is that a homestay?
It's a homestay.
If it's a homestay, it's hard to go without a purpose to stay.
It's not like, can I just look around?
It's a place I shouldn't have gone to.
There are a lot of people talking about Yambaru Hostel.
I didn't go to Yambaru Queenasou.
But I went there and it was interesting.
So I'm going there again.
I feel like I can discover interesting places that aren't on the internet.
That's good.
As a user.
Yambaru Queenasou.
You had a lot of negative comments during the tanning session.
I think there are a lot of people talking about the image of the Eshikar people.
There are people who are in the same business as you.
People who do similar things.
Do you feel like you have the same values as those people?
Yes, I have a lot of values.
There are a lot of people.
Eshikar people.
But the interesting thing is,
Eshikar people have a lot of difficulties.
So they can compromise in a lot of ways.
But people who only use Eshikar things,
or people who only follow Eshikar things,
they have very strict standards.
You mean people who only consume Eshikar things.
People who only consume Eshikar things,
sometimes they ask for 100 points.
I don't think 100 points exist in the world,
but there are a lot of rules.
I don't know where they came up with the rules,
but there are a lot of people who are negative about a lot of things.
So, I don't know.
But there are a lot of people who don't compromise.
For example, if you try to make a mild sunscreen 100% organic,
it will probably cost about 5,000 yen.
So if you do it for 5,000 yen,
even if you can make it with 100% organic materials,
now people use natural materials instead of organic materials.
48:02
They use 100% natural materials.
But if you make it organic, the price will go up.
So you can tell people to be kind to coral.
You can think about the price,
but if it's not organic, you won't use it.
For example, some people don't use beeswax because it contains animal products.
I think it's okay, but everyone has different preferences.
There are people who find one point and deny it.
But people who actually do it
can tell the difference in the end.
It's the same with plastic packaging.
It gets heavier when it comes to ethical.
But everyone has different rules.
And you have to think about it yourself.
I like clothes, so I want a lot of clothes.
But it's not good to buy a lot of clothes.
If you buy it, you can wear it for a long time.
I think used clothes are good,
but if you choose this, microplastics will flow into the sea.
You have to think about how far you can go.
But yoga pants are completely oil-based.
So you have to think about it.
There are a lot of people who just did it,
and there are a lot of people who deny it.
I think there are a lot of people like that in every industry.
I think it's everyone's problem.
But earlier we talked about it,
and she said it's important to be yourself.
I really sympathized with that.
You have to think about the rules of society.
You're an ethical person, so you have to do this.
I think it's more sustainable to think about yourself.
If you don't satisfy yourself,
you'll run out of gas.
It's important to be sustainable.
I think a lot of people don't understand
what all the products are made of.
Organic is popular, so 100% vegan.
51:01
It's organic, so anything is fine.
It's not good for your skin at all.
You have to learn about your body first.
Minami is an expert on skin.
You have to think about the environment you're in.
You can only do this much today.
I want to wear yoga pants, but other people are doing their best.
I think it's good to have a pass point in yourself.
Don't judge others.
I think not judging others will save you.
You'll be more free.
I'm 42 years old now,
but I'm starting to enjoy it.
The more I think about it, the more I understand.
Then I don't have to worry about one thing for a long time.
I know what I want.
I know what makes me happy.
It's getting simpler.
I think it's fun to get older.
It's okay to have fun.
I want to get older.
It's okay. I'm still getting older.
When I was 39 or 40 years old,
my husband asked me if I wanted to get married.
I said yes.
I said yes, but I didn't care.
I had fun that day.
I thought it was great to have fun now.
I thought I was lucky to get married.
If it had been 5 years earlier,
I wouldn't have felt that way.
I understood that he gave me everything I wanted.
Maybe that's why I didn't want to get married.
Maybe it's because you've experienced it once.
I got married when I was young.
I had a car accident.
I got divorced.
I have a lot to reflect on.
I wasn't able to make myself happy.
We were both unhappy.
I think we were in the same situation.
When you're young, it's hard.
I thought it was hard to get married when I was young.
I'm glad it's over.
But I'm trying to make the most of it.
I'm trying to spend more time with my husband.
I'm trying to be more considerate of him.
54:00
I'm trying to do that.
That's deep.
By the way, how was your 30s?
I got a tan when I was 35.
That's how I met him.
I came back to Japan when I was 28.
We opened a boutique.
We opened a boutique.
We were a year apart.
We did a lot of things.
I think it's important to be independent.
When you work, you want to get orders from people.
You want to get orders from people.
You want to be independent.
That's how you can work.
I opened a boutique.
I wanted people to think I was okay.
I wanted people to think I was okay.
I'm a beautiful woman.
I'm a beautiful woman.
I wanted to be beautiful.
I want to be myself.
I want to be myself.
I want to be beautiful.
I think it's easier to get orders from people who are like me.
I think it's easier to get orders from people who are like me.
I want to promote my work.
I want to promote my work.
I want to promote my work.
I think it's easier to get orders from people who are like me.
I think it's easier to get orders from people who are like me.
I had a hard time going to daycare.
I didn't have a T-shirt.
You were so beautiful in the afternoon.
It's a street style, so...
Originally it was a street style, but in my early thirties,
I wore a blouse or a dress for work.
So I didn't have a T-shirt.
I bought a T-shirt first.
I was like, I really have to wear it.
You were like, I really have to wear it.
I did it for about two years before I started, so I slowly got used to it.
Slowly.
I stopped going to stores.
I stopped going to stores,
and I started returning my clothes to streetwear.
So people who came to Okinawa
think that I've changed a lot.
They think that I'm a naturalist now,
but when I meet my college friends,
they say that I haven't changed at all.
You want to go back.
57:02
That's interesting.
When we become 35,
we'll probably find something.
You might look different.
That's possible.
By the way, how was your love life in your thirties?
How old were you when you got divorced?
I think I got divorced when I was about 35.
Three or four years before we got divorced,
it was really hard.
It wasn't like, bye-bye.
It was like a gear.
It was slowly breaking down.
I thought it was weird.
I wanted it to go well, but it didn't.
I wondered why.
I kept struggling, so I was really lonely.
We were both like that.
I had a lot of work to do.
I had a lot of ups and downs.
I was mentally worn out.
I was so worn out that I thought I was going to die.
I had a heart attack.
I was so depressed.
So you had a heart attack when you were 35
and a period before you got divorced?
I think I was still married at that time.
I don't remember well.
You realized that the gears were a little off.
It took a long time to realize that.
Did you ever feel like it was over?
Accidents happen.
I'm doing my best to fix it.
We both know we're doing our best.
Accidents happen.
There was a big accident.
I thought it was over.
I thought we could get over it no matter what.
Even if we both worked hard.
What did you feel when the accident happened
and you decided to go your separate ways?
I don't know.
It took a long time.
I didn't know how long it would take to get a divorce.
I didn't know what to do.
It took too long.
I don't know.
People tend to forget when they think too much.
Because it's painful.
I don't remember much.
I just think it's over.
1:00:00
But accidents are the most painful.
It's so painful that you forget.
It's amazing how you can say you're lucky when you meet your current husband.
You feel like you're new again.
After you get over it.
If you keep thinking about it, you'll think about it again.
I feel like I'm building a new world.
I'm verging up.
I feel like I'm building a new world.
I think it's a fantasy.
Even though we're apart, we have good memories.
I don't think you've seen reality.
It's just a memory in your head.
I don't think anyone wants to be unhappy and wants to break up.
We both want to be happy, so we can't.
It's a choice.
Accidents are painful, but the result is happy.
Whatever happens, I'm happy.
Even if he comes back to me,
if he's unhappy, I'm unhappy, too.
So the fact is the fact.
I want to say to those who are suffering, look at the reality.
Yes.
It's okay.
I'm going to tell everyone through Minami-chan.
I took it as a representative.
Don't cry.
Yes.
Yes, yes.
You can get a lot of people.
You can get a lot of people.
It's better to choose from a lot of people than from a few people.
It's better to have a lot of dates.
It's better to have a lot of friends.
To build a healthy relationship,
spend time with each other,
understand each other.
Effort.
Effort.
I think the two of you have a lot in common.
You have the same thoughts.
I thought it would be a good match even if you didn't work so hard.
On the contrary, when you had a fight,
when you had different opinions,
did you both work hard?
I don't know about the other person's efforts.
I think my husband is doing his best.
I know that my personality is annoying,
1:03:02
but there are some things I can't change.
I'm very straightforward,
and he's very strict.
But he's used to being straightforward.
I know he's used to it.
But he's working hard.
He reduced his luggage.
He said,
I reduced my luggage by half.
It's not a perfect score,
but he's working hard.
I think they're showing each other.
And time.
I reflect on myself and
I'm doing my best to bloom more.
It's busy.
But I'm taking a good day off.
I set a goal of taking a day off two years ago.
I said,
I'm going to take a day off perfectly next year.
Then we can play on Saturday and Sunday.
I'm trying to make time to be with my husband.
So she's now pregnant.
How many months?
Half a year.
Half a year.
So about four months.
She's going to give birth in June.
Is this the first maternity?
Yes, it's the first pregnancy.
I thought I could do it.
When you're 42 years old and you're pregnant,
I'm sure there are people in the world who are interested in the birth of an elderly person.
I want to know what Yukki felt at first,
what she's like now,
and how she feels.
I want to know her mind.
I've been told by my seniors since I was in my 30s.
Yukki, if you don't have a baby now,
it's better to freeze eggs.
Everyone in New York was doing that,
so I was told that.
But it costs a lot of money.
I was like, what?
And my marriage life was ruined.
I couldn't afford to have a baby.
The store was going up and down.
The sun was going up and down.
It started from the bottom.
I couldn't think about having a baby.
But I'm getting older,
and I'm worried.
1:06:00
I gave up a lot of things.
I gave up being happy.
But I thought I shouldn't do that.
So I made a commitment.
I thought I'd be happy, too.
I wonder if this is traumatic.
I've seen a lot of people fall.
I was deceived by my friends.
My friend was a good girl,
but she got really bad.
I've seen that.
I guess I've got a bad habit.
And I couldn't accept people because of the sunburn.
So I couldn't think about my own happiness.
I didn't know how to make people understand.
So I worked hard.
When I thought I wanted a baby,
I got married at the age of 41.
I wondered what it would be like to get pregnant now.
I wondered if I could do it.
I've been listening to people's stories
about getting pregnant in their 30s.
I've heard a lot about how hard it is to make money.
I was heavy.
My back was heavy.
I didn't know where to start.
Then there were two timings.
I had a friend in New York.
She got pregnant last year.
She was pregnant, too.
She was taking care of her health because of COVID-19.
She was running a fashion brand.
She was working hard to get pregnant.
She was told that she was a young mother in Manhattan.
That's interesting.
New York is great.
I was surprised.
My friend told me that I should get pregnant
because I have a partner.
I thought it was true.
My friend was working hard to get pregnant when she had a partner.
I couldn't do it then.
But now I have a partner.
She encouraged me.
I wanted to get pregnant now,
but I also had friends who couldn't.
I thought I'd give it a try,
so I went to the clinic.
It took a few months,
but I didn't have any health problems.
I was very healthy.
1:09:00
I thought I was healthy.
I was taking care of my health.
I was told that I would have a miscarriage soon.
Miscarriage is when the ovary is clogged
and you can't meet the uterus.
It's like a liquid toothpaste.
But I was able to do it.
It didn't cost me any money.
Your body was healthy.
Health is important.
Yes, it is.
I didn't have to do anything
about my miscarriage.
I didn't have to get a shot.
I was told that it's good to be stress-free.
I was careful to play.
I thought I could play with my husband a lot.
I was really focused on that.
I think it was good.
So you played and were stress-free.
When I was stressed at work in the spring,
I was late to get my period.
I couldn't get my period.
So I thought it was important to play.
I think there are a lot of people
who worry about getting their period
when they are in their 30s or 40s.
I was surprised that there are people
like me who can get pregnant
when they are in their 40s.
When we talked about being stress-free,
we talked about picking up garbage with Minami earlier.
It's really hard to pick up the garbage
when you are not stable in your mind.
That's what I thought.
If you are not stable in your mind,
you can't pick up garbage.
You can't focus on the garbage.
When Yuki went to Eriomote Island,
she said she thought she could pick up the garbage
because the garbage had fallen.
We wondered why we thought
we could pick up the garbage there.
It was a big question at first.
I think it's because there are more people
who do cleaning activities now.
I wonder why we decided to pick up the garbage
at that time.
You mean Eriomote Island?
Yes, Eriomote Island.
We thought about how we could pick up the garbage.
The state of mind?
1:12:02
I researched the psychology of the people
in Eriomote Island.
I don't know how accurate the data is.
There are many teenagers and college students.
They have a rebellious spirit
against their society.
They have a rebellious spirit against their society.
When I was in elementary school,
I was often asked to pick up the garbage.
Because the beach was close.
At that time, I didn't throw away any garbage.
I went to the beach to pick up the garbage.
I went to the beach to pick up the garbage.
I was asked,
who threw away the garbage?
When I was a child,
I could only accept the garbage.
I wondered how to pick up the garbage.
I wondered how to pick up the garbage.
Is it important to grow up?
How about you, Akane?
I don't know.
I don't know.
At first,
I joined a lifestyle community.
I joined a lifestyle community.
I joined a lifestyle community.
I joined a lifestyle community.
When I was a child,
I naturally picked up the garbage.
When I was a child,
I naturally picked up the garbage.

I didn't come to Okinawa often, but now I'm starting to notice it.
So now I don't have to worry about what other people are going through.
That's how it is.
But I feel like you're doing it as a part of your training.
I think it's okay to do it because you're free.
In Okinawa, you don't have to do anything.
Everyone goes to Starbucks or sits at the beach.
If you don't look for a place to sit, you won't be able to find one.
So I think it's okay to be in a position where you can pick up trash after going to Starbucks.
Because you don't have to do anything.
Everyone just wants to talk.
You can do it while picking up trash.
It's not that I'm doing it because I'm good at picking up trash.
Yuki-san said,
If we pick up the garbage, we're going to be really happy.
1:15:00
People respect me.
I think I understand that you do it because you feel good.
I feel like I've done something that I don't usually do, and I've cleared one.
I feel like if I do something good, good things will come together.
It's like fortune-telling.
I wish I could be a fortune-teller.
That's how I learn and do things.
500 yen is the same as the price of coffee.
Starbucks is 500 yen.
I think it's about the same.
I think it's really good.
We're surrounded by people like this.
We're doing a lot of things.
But we're not doing anything social good around us.
What kind of action do you think you can do today?
I think there are people who have a high hurdle when they go out and pick up trash.
Manatee and sunblock are easy to do.
You can do it on your own.
After the drive, you just have to pay your partner 500 yen.
You can do it while you're driving.
You can do it while you're playing.
You can buy sunblock if you drop it.
You can buy it if you drop it on the road.
You can also contribute to shopping.
You can save energy.
I think it's good when you want to do it.
That's the best answer.
I'm glad to hear that from an ethical person.
Sometimes I feel a strange pressure.
Because it looks perfect.
Ethical people and organic people.
You can do it when you want to.
By the way, I think my bottle is interesting.
I have a cocktail sweater.
I walk around with this.
I spend about 200 yen on a bottle every day.
It's about 6,000 yen a month.
If you have 6,000 yen, you can buy a lot of things.
1:18:02
You can eat delicious food.
You can put about 10 sunscreens in it.
If you use a water bottle, you can save a lot of money.
I recommend this to enrich your life.
My husband also walks around with a bottle every day.
When he plays soccer, he brings ice water.
It's always cold.
It's the best.
I recommend a bottle of water.
I see.
I'm glad to hear that.
It's good for your health to save money.
I was shocked when we watched the video about environmental pollution.
It was a big shock to me.
I thought something was leaking.
I thought an animal was eating something and was dead.
I was shocked when I saw it.
I can't help it.
I can't help it.
I can't help it.
I can't help it.
I can't help it.
I can't help it.
I can't help it.
I think there is a potential.
If all humans were like that, the earth wouldn't be destroyed like this.
I think some people will be affected by the shocking video.
I think it's better to say that you have this kind of profit.
There are people who think that way.
I think it depends on the person.
As I said before, if you put a bottle of water in a 7-Eleven, you can get money.
I think it's good to change it to money.
I think so, too.
I don't know why people who are good for the earth and society have cold eyes.
People around me say that.
I always wonder why it's not good.
Is it embarrassing?
I think so.
It sounds like a joke.
Judgmental people are not suitable for themselves.
On the contrary, they are too good for the outside world.
Do your own thing.
If you have time to judge the outside world, I think it's better to do your own thing.
1:21:00
I think it's okay to be negative, but it's the person's opinion.
If you want to be judgmental, you have to be rich.
If you express yourself richly, people will accept you.
I think that kind of person is happy.
It may be negative for the environment, but if you don't have that problem, you may be judgmental about other problems.
I think you should leave it alone.
It's important to focus on what you love.
You and the people around you.
There are more disasters than I thought.
Because of global warming, there are many disasters on the earth.
But Okinawa is a really good place.
There are no disasters at all.
People are kind and happy.
When I think about the people who will lose their island, I think about global warming.
The most difficult country to deal with global warming is a country without power.
I can't do anything about such a big movement.
I may not feel that way when I know the reality.
But I think it would be nice if we could sympathize with each other.
I'm the kind of person who thinks about it when I'm there.
I want the problem of global warming to be solved.
I don't care if the electricity bill goes up.
I don't care if the electricity bill goes up.
I want the problem of global warming to be solved.
Also, relationship with many people.
As a couple, as a friendship, and also other industry.
I heard a lot.
Thank you.
We really recommend the Reef Safe Sunscreen and 500 Yen Cleanup Project.
1:24:04

That's all for today.
Thank you for coming.
Thank you.
Bye bye.
