Today is Monday, January 15.
The weather in Osaka rainy and the temperature is quite low, making it feel chilly.
I spent the past two days, Saturday and Sunday, in my hometown of Fukuyama, which allowed me to relax.
I was able to pay my respects at the family grave and also had some pleasant encounters with new people.
It was a joyful time. Now a week has begun.
I've already released three episodes of this podcast.
Each of them was recorded with a prepared script, translated into English in advance.
As a result, it might sound like I'm reading from a script and indeed when I listen back, it felt like narration.
While this is a daily format, I hope to gradually transition to improvisational English storytelling as it will save me from preparing notes in advance.
I'm looking forward to that evolution.
I have a friend who lives in India.
He's an Indian software engineer who was second rate to Japan several years ago and we met at work.
Since then, we occasionally exchange messages and when he was in Japan, we went out for meals together.
He's incredibly kind and I always enjoy his company.
When he was in Japan, he was single but I received a message from him last year saying that he got married.
I remember feeling genuinely happy when I saw the joyful photos and read his message.
Indian weddings involve elephants as I learned from the picture he sent.
Having elephants at a wedding is something that would never happen in Japan.
But in India, elephants are considered sacred and cherished animals.
I thought it was wonderful to have a wedding ceremony with elephants.

I shared with him that I recently started this English post diary.
Since English is his native language, I'm hoping he can also receive my post messages from Japan.
It will make me happy to hear from India as well.
So that's about it for today's episode.
A new week has started so please take care of yourselves and stay healthy, everyone.
Let's meet again soon. Have a great day today.
