Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast
Hello
So in the last episode, we've decided that we're going to look for someone to help us with uploading these podcasts, the audios and the videos, right?
And you want to ask exactly what I'm currently doing, right?
The whole process of this uploading process, which if anyone were to take on the job, that person would be doing.
Yeah
Because everything is done by you, right?
Yeah, right now, yes.
Thank you very much, first of all.
Thank you for being on the show.
And then, I actually absolutely have no idea what is actually going on after this recording, right?
Alright, so here's what I'm doing.
Right now, so like once a week, we're doing the recording, right?
When we're doing the recording, I have an iPhone right here that's recording the video, right?
And on the iPhone has this Rode Wireless Go 2 microphone, like this pin high-quality microphone attached to that iPhone.
So the audio of that iPhone is coming from these pin microphones, right?
And we do about 9 episodes every week.
That's about how much we're doing.
9 usuals and then 9 pluses?
That's right, that's right.
9 usuals, so 9, yeah, 9 usuals and then 9 pluses that are all about like 5 minutes long, right?
And the plus episodes, we don't do the videos.
We only do the audio, right?
So there's gonna be 9 videos, that's about all 10 minutes long, right?
That's videos and they are all for Kevin Zickles' podcast, the normal one.
And we also do 9 plus episodes, those are all each 5 minutes, about 5 minutes.
And they're audio only and they all go in Amazon Music.
And after that, I go home and what I first do is I import all that video and the audio to my computer, right?
And then I rip the audio from the video, right?
I rip the audio, right?
So I have an audio file, just the audio file, right?
And what I do after that is I get the 9 audio file, the normal, Kevin Zickles' podcast normal audio file and then the plus audio file, 18.
18 audio file, I upload it to a web service called Alphonic.
03:03
That, what that service does is it normalizes the volume.
And if one person is speaking a little bit lower and the other person is normal, it kind of like evens it out.
I see.
And it, there's a, and it cuts silences as well.
Oh, wow.
So if either of us, both of us don't talk for like 3 seconds, that's gonna be automatically cut it out, cut out, right?
Genius thing.
Right, it's genius.
So, and that, yeah, after I run all the audio through Alphonic, right?
You download that file back into my computer and now I have 9 audio files, right?
Sorry, 18 audio files, right?
That's crisp and clear, right?
That's great for, now I can upload that, right?
But, I have, we have 2 shows, right?
Yes.
We have Kevin's English Podcast and Kevin's English Podcast Plus.
Yeah.
So Kevin's English Podcast, we call that normal.
Yeah.
The normal episodes.
That's right, yeah.
Yeah.
That's uploaded on all the major, you know, sites except Amazon Music.
Yeah.
So for example, like Apple Podcast, Spotify Podcast, Google Podcast, which their service is closing soon, by the way.
Oh, really?
Surprising.
And all that on the platform, right?
Yeah.
So, and all those shows are gonna be uploaded, we're gonna get all the normal ones and upload that daily.
Yes, yes, yes.
And then on the Amazon Music, that's the Kevin's English Podcast Plus, we have to combine the episodes.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
We have to have the Plus episode first and then after that, attach the normal version.
Yeah.
So make it like 15 minutes.
So it's a 15 minute long show, each episode.
Right.
That's gonna be uploaded on Amazon Music.
And we use a web service called ART19 to upload that to Amazon Music.
We use a service called Anchor on all the rest.
So, right.
I see.
Yeah.
So you gotta know how to combine audio files.
I see.
Yeah.
I see.
And also you gotta know how to rip the audio from the video.
Rip audio.
Yeah, that's right.
That's right.
I see.
So the titles, they're all organized in this one Google Sheets sheet that I have right here.
Okay.
It's got the date of when it's gonna be published.
It's got the title that I want it to display.
And it's got the description section, what I want in the description section.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So...
You're gonna share this?
I will share that with you.
So you can look in the Excel sheet and then copy and paste the title.
Yes.
Copy and paste the description section for both when you upload to Anchor and ART19.
06:04
Right.
So that's that.
Okay.
So those things are the things you do on the recording day?
There's more.
Oh, okay.
There's more, yeah.
Okay.
Plus YouTube, right?
We do a Doga Bang podcast, right?
Yes, yes, yes.
And that's very simple.
I don't run the Doga through Alphonic or anything.
It's just the original video of what we recorded.
Okay.
That simply goes uploaded on YouTube.
That's all.
I see.
Yeah.
And the title is gonna be the same.
As on the sheet.
That's right.
And you have to wait seven days for the Doga to be uploaded.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Right?
So the episode of, let's say, 6月1日, that video version is gonna be uploaded on 6月8日.
Yeah.
6月8日.
Because we have to wait seven days.
That's due to a contract with Amazon.
Yeah.
A week later.
A week later.
So, yeah.
That's basically the whole process.
I see.
I see.
Right.
So you get all the, I mean, you get the video, basically.
Yeah.
You get the video.
Videos.
You get the video and 9 plus audio file.
Oh, true.
And then a link to the Google Sheets.
That's all.
And you collect things and then just.
That's right.
Ripped into and then put into the normalized things.
Yes.
And then put a title in it, upload through those platforms.
That's right.
It's like a reservation, like uploading.
Yeah, you can schedule an upload.
Yes, schedule uploads.
Yeah.
And, you know, since I am hiring, it's possible.
It is going to be plus if you could like add subtitles to the videos.
Like if you could do that, I would pay an extra.
Oh.
Yeah.
Wow.
Like if you could add subtitles and translation to Japanese.
Wow.
On the Doga.
Yeah.
I would pay more.
Wow.
Yeah.
Oh, that's.
Yeah.
But I do have to see how good your English is.
Like if you could.
Like I.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Nuance really matters.
Yeah.
Right.
If we're going to add subtitles, it's going to be official.
Yeah.
So if the nuance is a little bit different, the Japanese nuance is different.
It's going to be like.
Yeah.
It's going to be like officially translated version.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's going to be the official one.
Right.
Yeah.
So.
True.
We're going to have to be careful on that.
But yeah.
I see.
I see.
That's right.
Wow.
And adding on to that, what I'm going to ask you to do is the making the short form videos.
Yeah.
So like I said in the last episode, I found an AI site that you could feed a YouTube link.
09:03
Right.
A long form YouTube link.
And it's going to output a AI chosen juicy section of the video.
And it creates a Tategamen short form video.
So you have to download that and then upload that onto YouTube shorts.
And then also add a Japanese title to it.
Right.
Right.
Right.
The AI is not going to give you the Japanese title.
You're going to have to think of it on your own.
So either me or that person is going to have to think about the titling.
Okay.
Very good.
Yeah.
So now I kind of clearly see what you have to do.
One more question is about those like new things.
Yeah.
Short things.
Yeah.
Short clips.
We've got hundreds of videos, right?
Yes.
Now in a stock.
Yeah.
Like already uploaded on YouTube.
Yeah.
And how fast or like I mean how often you have to upload actual video.
Yeah.
It's like daily new one or like 10 long videos a day or like how.
Yeah.
I mean.
Right.
The quicker that we cover all the videos the better.
Right.
But you know that's not possible.
Right.
It's going to take a lot of time.
Yeah.
No.
Yeah.
Right.
Hundreds of videos.
Yeah.
Right.
So it's going to work really really hard to get it out ASAP.
It's just going to be.
I don't know.
I'm okay with like executing five links per week.
Per week.
Or five or ten links per week.
I'm okay with that.
Okay.
Yeah.
But you just have to like put a link into the AI service.
AI service.
Right.
And then download the short version.
Right.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
