Alright.
Okay.
Okay, so...
[Japanese]
[Japanese]
[Japanese]
[Japanese]
[Japanese]
Well, that was a very...
Oh, the emoji?
Oh, they're giving that "ow" emoji.
Yes.
(speaking in Japanese)
- Thank you.
(speaking in Japanese)
- Okay.
(speaking in Japanese)
- Mm-hmm.
(speaking in Japanese)
- Okay.
(speaking in Japanese)
- All right.
(speaking in Japanese)
(laughing)
(speaking in Japanese)
- Mm-hmm.
(speaking in Japanese)
(speaking in Japanese)
- Mm-hmm.
(speaking in Japanese)
- Mm-hmm.
(speaking in Japanese)
- Mm-hmm.
(speaking in Japanese)
- Mm-hmm.
(speaking in Japanese)
- Mm-hmm.
(speaking in Japanese)
- Okay.
(speaking in Japanese)
- Okay.
(speaking in Japanese)
(speaking in Japanese)
- Mm-hmm.
(speaking in Japanese)
- Mm-hmm.
(speaking in Japanese)
- All right. - Thank you.
- Thank you.
- Two topics there.
ホラーの苦手な話
Scary things.
- Yeah.
- When we encounter greetings.
- Mm-hmm.
- Scary things.
- Okay.
- I hate scary things.
- You hate?
- I hate scary things.
- Mm.
- You know, I don't know what you said
on the video she mentioned.
- Yeah.
- But I hate it too.
- You hate it too.
- I would never walk into a Obakiyashiki.
- Oh.
- I've never done it in my life.
- Wow.
- Never been to not one Obakiyashiki ever in my life.
Never done that before.
- Oh, cute guy.
- Yeah, never done it.
I'll be upfront about it.
I'll be proud to say that I've never ever been
inside a Obakiyashiki.
- Any kinds of?
- Any kind of Obakiyashiki ever in my life.
Never done it.
- Wow.
- I just never, didn't even cross my mind of going.
- Oh, okay, okay.
- Nope, not going.
- Why?
- Because it's not worth it.
- Okay.
Types of horror that are too much
- Okay, so the kind of scariness that I hate
are jump scares.
Jump scares are the worst for me.
- Okay, like that.
- Yeah, like boom.
Like that sudden jump of scare.
That's the worst kind of scariness for me.
- You hate that.
- I hate it.
It just sticks with me.
I fucking hate it.
I get angry.
(both laughing)
- Yeah.
- Yeah, so that's the worst one.
Second one are the visuals.
- Visuals.
- The visual scariness.
A lot of the Japanese horror films I think has it.
You know, the woman with the white eyeball.
The woman with the long hair, white eyeball
with blood all over her face.
That's bad.
That I hate too.
That I hate.
- Okay.
- The ones that are okay are the like the kaidan.
- Kaidan?
- Yeah.
- Kaidan?
- Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- Inagawa Inagaki Junji.
(both laughing)
- That I'm okay with.
- Oh, really?
- That I'm completely okay with.
Like it's just fucking, right?
- Okay, okay.
Yeah, okay.
- There's no visual.
- Okay.
- There's no jump scare.
- If there are visuals.
- If there's visuals with it, I hate it.
- Okay, okay.
- So like (speaking in foreign language)
that's visuals.
- Yeah.
- I hate it.
- Yeah, okay.
- I would never watch it.
Horror Visuals that are Okay vs Not Okay
- Okay.
- Yeah.
(speaking in foreign language)
You know how some episodes are visual?
- Yeah.
- Some episodes are not visual.
Yeah, the not visuals I'm okay.
- Okay.
- Yeah, the visuals, no.
That's where I draw my line.
So if it's like thriller, like,
oh no, what's gonna happen next?
- Yeah.
- Oh no, no, no, what's gonna, I'm okay with that.
- Oh, okay.
- Splatters, you know what a splatter is?
- Yeah, like a--
- Blood all over.
- Yeah.
- Yeah, I'm okay with that.
- Oh, you're okay with that.
Even the visuals?
- The visuals, it's just, it's not,
so blood visual, I'm okay.
Like, if it's like torture,
- Okay, okay.
- Like full on, like full screen torture,
I'm a little bit like, oh God, I can't watch,
but I'm kind of okay.
Like, it's not gonna stick with me.
Like, it's just on that moment that I'm kind of like,
oh, this is difficult to watch,
but like, it's not gonna stick with me.
- They're different.
- Yeah, they're different.
- Oh, okay.
So that's where I draw my lines of like the horror films.
Personal Limitations on Horror and Kaidans
- Okay.
- How about you, man?
Like, where do you draw your line?
- I don't see any of those.
- So all of that, no?
- No.
- Oh, okay.
So even Kaidans?
- No.
- Kaidans you're not good at?
- No.
- Okay.
- You know, there are some guys who start,
they just wanna, they just wanna speak it,
you know, they have stocks of the--
- Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- Kaidans somewhere, they just, you know, bro in
ホラー作品で受け付けないもの
and try to reveal those talented, you know--
- Kaidan stories.
- Yeah, when we were like staying together,
like it didn't close to midnight
and suddenly someone starts like,
(speaking in foreign language)
You know, then I just notice it and then punch him.
(laughing)
- Like you need to stop.
- Yeah, you gotta stop him.
- You give him a red--
- Yeah.
- Like a red card.
- I just throw my (speaking in foreign language)
or something.
(laughing)
- How about like, (speaking in foreign language)
- (speaking in foreign language)
- Like 007 running away from--
- Ah, I see those movies, yeah.
- You're okay with that?
- Yeah, I'm okay with those, like,
or like, you know, like a,
yeah, but 007, that's okay to me.
But there are some films in the same category,
like, you know, those, it's like a,
it's like, what kind of category is that?
Like a crime suspense kind of.
Sometimes that, you know,
there are films too, too, too much to me.
- How about this?
It's like, (speaking in foreign language)
- Okay.
- And like the,
the detective enters a mysterious room
and hears a footstep from behind.
- Yeah.
- And the camera is panning towards the door.
- Yeah.
- How about that?
Are you okay with that?
- Yeah.
- It's a very, like, the tension is very--
- Yeah.
- Like, high, right?
- So I would say I can enjoy rather like jump--
- Jump scares?
- Scares, I would say.
Like, (speaking in foreign language)
I could enter.
Yeah.
Types of Horror They Can and Can't Handle
- Oh, wow.
- Yeah.
Or like, 'cause it's like a, to me,
it's like a surprising entertainment to me, kind of.
- Okay, okay.
- So I can, I mean, I don't go there,
but I could enjoy those, or like those films,
like, (singing)
kind of, yeah, that's okay.
- Okay.
- Yeah.
- So you are okay with them, some of them.
- Some of them, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- So if it was like, how about this?
How about like torture?
- No.
- That's a--
- No.
- That was a quick no.
- So I don't like those tortures or like fighting.
- Oh, you're not okay with fighting?
- No, I don't like those.
- So if the bad guy punches the protagonist
and the protagonist is like blood all over his face,
that's--
- Yeah, I mean, that's not good.
(laughing)
I don't, I just don't want to see, like, for example,
you know, there are some battle scenes, like Harry Potter,
they have a fight scenes.
- Yeah.
- Well, that's okay, but if that goes like too much,
then like the nose bone, like crack.
- Oh, yeah.
- That, no, I don't want to see those.
- So like Kill Bill, that's really bad, then.
- Never seen Kill Bill?
- Never seen Kill Bill, but that's kill.
- Yeah, it's kill, it's very visual.
- Yeah, then I don't--
- The damage is very visual.
- Oh, no, no, no, I don't want to see those.
(laughing)
Yeah, that kind of, no.
- It's interesting how it's so different with people.
- Right.
- Like where they draw their line, right?
- Right, right, right, right.
- Like it's different variation of like,
Different reactions to horror
not good with horrors.
- Yeah, yeah, like jump scares are, to me,
not like horrors, it's like a surprising,
it's like a happy birthday to you,
kind of the same surprising vibe to me.
- You know how in some movies, like for example,
the, you hear footsteps, the character hears a footstep
from behind, and the camera pans on the door,
and the door, bam, opens.
And the viewer feels like something scary
is gonna be behind the door,
but in reality, it's just a cat, right?
- Yeah.
- If it's a cat, are you okay with it?
So that's for you, it's just, it's not a horror for you.
- Yeah.
- That's how I'm understanding it, is that--
- Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- Oh, I see.
- Like huge cat, and then--
- Yeah.
- Yeah, and I would say like,
I would be obviously surprised,
but that's, I can understand,
that's kind of entertainment.
- Uh-huh, uh-huh.
- Yeah, I can kind of enjoy it.
- I see.
- Oh, yareta yo, kind of.
- Okay, for me, that's a no-no.
- Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- That's a huge jump-scare.
- Yeah.
Yeah, all right.
Okay.
- Thanks for listening, guys.
- Thank you.
- We can talk about the second question in the next episode.
All right, thanks for listening, guys.
- Thank you. - Bye.
